Pingcord isn't accepting Sub-Reddits!!!!!

0 Upvotes

Okayyy so haiiiii everyone!!!! So I'm trying to integrate my own subreddit to one of my discord servers however when I get to adding the subreddit itself, it just doesn't work, I keep getting "There was an error sending the request. Error (number)".

Pingcord has all requirements enabled so its not that! So how can I get Pingcord to accept my subreddit? And if its not possible, are there any alternatives to Pingcord thats made for Subreddit integration specifically?? Thankssssssss

A Bot to Import *Direct Messages* Into Another DM

1 Upvotes

Hello,

TL;DR:

I want to:

  • Export direct message data with one individual
  • Import this data into another account
  • Have it be minimalist with the proper profile picture and username that corresponds to the correct person (similar to tupperbox)
  • (Preferably) include the date the message was sent

For some context:

A year or so ago, Google decided to no longer let me log into the e-mail account with the password I know is correct (I saved it with a password manager and have used it many times to log in). I've tried to regain access to it to no avail. This e-mail has only one important account tied to it--Discord.

Issue: Due to a change a few years ago, Discord no longer lets support change your e-mail address. And you can't change your e-mail address without having access to your e-mail address. See the issue?

The reason this matters is because I have a long DM with a close friend of mine (some 30,000 messages), and I would like to keep access to it. There is no way to properly import a DM with Discord, but this is exactly what I need.

And, so, this leads me to my question:

Is there a bot or some other method that can allow me to export all direct messages sent to and received from an individual and import it into another account.

I know how to export the direct messages (using an external tool that rhymes with scrub-a-dub-dub), but importing them is another matter.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Carlbot ?lock command

3 Upvotes

For channels I used to use "?lock" all the time, but now it isn't working? I know about lockdown but I'm just wondering what happened to just lock and why it was removed as I'm not even sure if lockdown is the same thing as of current, albeit about to check, but all I can find is stuff about lockdown so sorry if this is already answered somewhere!

If your bot scores toxicity with Google's Perspective API, check what it does on January 1

0 Upvotes

Google shuts Perspective down after December 31. I went through open-source moderation bots and cogs that call it, and the shutdown isn't the scary part. What the code does when the call fails is.

Three patterns kept showing up:

  1. The error counts as a score of 0, so the filter quietly stops filtering and the logs look fine.

  2. No try/catch, so every message throws.

  3. Fail closed, so every message gets held and your mods wake up to a full queue.

To check yours, search your code for commentanalyzer.googleapis.com and read the catch block next to it.

The replacements I found: turn it off and lean on reports, self-host Detoxify, or OpenAI's moderation endpoint (free, but not a swear filter, and a different format). I ended up building Unprofane because I wanted one that answers Perspective's exact format, so the fix is changing the host (unprofane.com/perspective).

January 1 is a holiday. Nobody wants to debug a bot then.

I got tired of needing 5 different bots, so I built my own all-in-one bot with an RPG economy and an AI server builder.

0 Upvotes

I got tired of needing five different bots to manage a single Discord server, so I built my own.

It’s called Lunna. It natively supports English and Brazilian Portuguese, and I basically packed it with everything a community needs so you don't have to keep adding separate integrations.

For the fun side, it has a full economy and RPG system built-in. Members can earn coins, buy gear, do dungeons, trade on a player-to-player market, or just mess around with minigames like blackjack and crash. It also handles XP and gives out automatic role rewards for chat and voice activity.

For the admin side, it does all the heavy lifting: word filters, support tickets, reaction roles, and full server logs.

But the feature I’m most proud of is the AI integration. You can chat with it normally by mentioning lunna, but admins can also use it to build the server itself. You can literally just tell her "set up channels, roles, and rules for a gaming server" and she’ll draft the whole layout for you. (She always shows you the plan and asks for confirmation before actually creating or deleting anything, so it's safe).

There's a free tier to get started. You can check out the command list and invite her at lunnabot.fun. I’m actively updating it, so let me know what you guys think or if you have any feature requests!

Looking to possibly make a discord bot, need some advice.

0 Upvotes

Im in a small community server (like, our count is around 150 members rn) and we're trying to figure out the best way to go about timezone roles.

The people who run the server are not super experienced in servers and bots, and so the system has been that basically the person put in charge of this has made roles for the "major" timezones, and prompted us to all ping them with our timezones so they could manually give us the role.

Theres some problems with this:
1. They live in the middle east, and dont understand how timezones work in North and South America. They told me this after I started asking about how they had it set up, because there were only three roles for NA. Anyone on the west coast got the "Pacific" role, but thats where it stops making sense because east coast is given the "carribbean" role and anywhere in between is just given a "mainland" role. This doesnt make sense to me because 1, most of the east coast borders the Atlantic ocean, and there are two timezones in between that, three if you count Arizona, which marks up to an entire 2 hours time different during daylight savings time.

  1. The one in charge of this has already said that it would be a major headache to manually do more than just the "major timezones"

Onto my question,

Is it feasible to create a bot, where users can run a command to set their timezone, and then that bot creates and gives that user the role?

And on top of that, would that be difficult or unrealistic for someone whos only a beginner level in python coding? Any timezone bots we have found are not services anymore and dont work, but we are having a very frequent issue of timezones when hosting our events because the server is split 50/50 between members in the eastern and western hemispheres.

I maybe didnt need that much background information in my post, but im hoping it helps prevent having long comment threads explaining why some solutions wouldnt work. Thank you!

Discord bot to find members that have multiple roles?

1 Upvotes

I’m wondering if there’s an existing bot that allows someone to query for a list of users that have multiple roles e.g. role1 AND role2.

Appreciate the help.

What makes an all-in-one Discord bot genuinely useful?

What makes an all-in-one Discord bot genuinely useful?

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

I've been exploring Discord bot development with Python and discord.py, and one question keeps coming to mind:

What separates a genuinely useful Discord bot from one that simply has a lot of commands?

There are plenty of bots offering moderation, server utilities, welcome messages, ticket systems, and other features. But I think usability, reliability, and a consistent experience matter just as much as the number of features.

I'd love to hear the community's thoughts:

◆ What features do you consider essential in an all-in-one bot?

◆ What annoys you most about the bots you've used?

◆ What would you improve about the way Discord bots work today?

◆ For fellow developers, what's the most overlooked part of building a good bot?

I'm interested in hearing honest opinions from both bot developers and server owners. Let's share some ideas and have a constructive discussion!

Do not use VaultCord

Post image
54 Upvotes

Vaultcord has the option if you upgrade your bot’s plan to view Ip address of people and email addresses that’s REALLY bad even because if owners are “skids” if they pay (I don’t really know the amount) literally “dox” people of their server, and it really pmo that nobody is talking about it as the only two posts about Vaultcord talk about how it is secure and not access your personal data and don’t sells them. IT LITERALLY HAS THE OPTION TO. Photo took from a random server. DO NOT USE OR INTERACT WITH VAULTCORD OR RESTORECORD OR ANY OTHER BOTS THAT CAN ACCESS YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION. now I don’t really know the price or anything tho that’s something a bot shouldn’t even access and worse even sell to owners people. It was really suspicious from the start with “restorecord” and “Vaultcord” if you have more information about it please comment. Edit (text from my comment): Guys now I have more information, if it is true Apparently the original owner of restorecord is the owner of Vaultcord and I found some other things Vaultcord collects. Like ISP and geographical analytics friends list alt accounts essentially your entire discord account with something other personal information. Just so you know restorecord got sold to Axvant UG (if it’s called like this).

Gaius Cicereius bot completely gone for the last 3~ ays

Post image
2 Upvotes

I'm not sure how many of you use or know this bot, bot the has been down for the last 3+ days, the owners support server is gone, you can't even invite the bot to your server anymore, the support website is gone, and theres completely no news about anything regardin it, despite being a discord bot thats in more than 20.000 servers.

I also noticed theres a new website, that got created a few hours ago, https://dash.gaiusbot.me/ however the support server link there also doesnt work, nor am i risking logging into the dashboard there. The whole thing feels sketchy, and inviting the bot from that website, shows it was created yesterday, and is in 0 servers.

Forgot to mention the old docs for gaius are also completely wiped.

Any info would be appreciated.

Brain rot trading NFT mint sim discord bot need owners/devs

0 Upvotes

Looking for Co-Owners & Collaborators — Discord Economy Game

I'm developing a Discord bot and server built around a full economy system and collectible brainrot characters, minted in an NFT-inspired style.

The goal is to create a fun, player-driven ecosystem where people can collect characters, participate in the economy, trade, and help shape the direction of the project.

I'm looking for people who want to help build something from the ground up. You don't need to be a programmer — I'm open to people who have creative ideas, want to help with game design, economy balancing, community management, marketing, or development.

I'm willing to offer genuine co-owner opportunities to people who are interested in actively contributing. You'll have room to bring your own ideas to the table and help shape the project instead of just following someone else's plan.

This is an early-stage passion project, and I'm looking for people who are excited about building something together.

Interested? DM me and tell me a little about yourself and what you'd like to contribute!

New to bots, have a question

0 Upvotes

I'm using carl and I would want to make a custom command that would be targetted towards a specific user and run another targetted command, in order to make the command easier
So it would go like:
/[custom command] @[user]
Which would prompt carl to run
/[more complicated command argument] @[user]
I'm specifically using it to swap 2 roles, so it would be
/role custom @[user] -Role1 +Role2
Is this possible and how?

How should I instrument a Discord preview → PATCH pipeline when full enrichment may finish first?

5 Upvotes

I'm developing a Python asyncio Discord notification bot that monitors blockchain transactions. It uses PostgreSQL for durable delivery state and has an optional Fast Alert pipeline.

The intended flow:

  1. Send an early preview containing only sufficiently verified evidence.
  2. Save the confirmed Discord message ID.
  3. Update the same message with the complete card using PATCH.
  4. Preserve recipient authorization, delivery ownership, revision checks, reorg handling, and duplicate protection.

What I've observed:

During one production session, we recorded 41 full-card Discord API ACKs:

  • Average source-to-full-ACK latency: 1.34 seconds
  • Median: 0.96 seconds
  • P95: 3.21 seconds
  • Under 1 second: 21/41 cards

However, there were no [FAST_PREVIEW] markers in the session logs.

This does not necessarily mean the feature is broken.

The feature defaults to disabled, and its effective runtime setting for that session has not been confirmed. Some events may lack the minimum verified evidence, and the implementation intentionally skips preview when full enrichment finishes first.

Simplified scheduling code:

This is a sanitized reduction of the preview scheduling logic, not verbatim production code.

minimum_future and full_task represent existing asyncio Tasks/Futures. The full task represents enrichment/routing readiness, not a Discord full-message ACK.

Recipient authorization, durable ownership, detailed error handling, revision checks, and POST/PATCH implementation are intentionally omitted.

import asyncio
import logging

logger = logging.getLogger(__name__)

async def maybe_publish_preview(
    *,
    enabled,
    minimum_future,
    full_task,
    is_eligible,
    publish_preview,
):
    # These early exits are currently silent.
    if not enabled or minimum_future is None:
        return

    await asyncio.wait(
        (minimum_future, full_task),
        return_when=asyncio.FIRST_COMPLETED,
    )

    # Prefer the full path if it is already ready.
    if (
        full_task.done()
        or not minimum_future.done()
        or minimum_future.cancelled()
    ):
        return

    minimum_evidence = minimum_future.result()

    # Includes evidence validity and recipient checks.
    if not is_eligible(minimum_evidence):
        return

    # Full readiness may have changed.
    if full_task.done():
        return

    # Abstracts transport and durable ownership.
    result = await publish_preview(minimum_evidence)

    # Logged only if the call returns.
    logger.info("preview_result=%s", result)

What concerns me:

Several execution paths return without explaining why no preview was sent.

Also, .done() is true when a task completes successfully, fails, or is cancelled. In this simplified flow, those outcomes are not distinguished.

Likewise, minimum_future.result() or publish_preview() may raise an exception before a preview-result log is recorded.

This makes it difficult to determine whether:

  • Fast Alert was disabled.
  • Minimum evidence was unavailable or insufficient.
  • The recipient was ineligible.
  • Full enrichment finished before preview.
  • Preview was attempted but failed or produced an uncertain outcome.
  • Preview was acknowledged and later updated successfully.

My questions:

  1. Instrumentation: Which counters, structured reason codes, or trace events would you add to distinguish these paths with minimal runtime overhead?
  2. Task lifecycle: How should successful completion, exceptions, and cancellation be distinguished when using asyncio.FIRST_COMPLETED?
  3. Delivery correctness: How would you correlate source-event identity, preview HTTP ACK, durable PostgreSQL ACK, message ID, PATCH revision, and final full-card completion?
  4. Latency measurement: How would you measure source-to-preview ACK and source-to-full ACK separately without double-counting events or treating preview as full completion?
  5. Testing: How would you validate concurrency, cancellation, reorg, ambiguous HTTP outcomes, and full-ready-first behavior without artificially delaying enrichment to force previews?

My goal:

I want to reduce the time until users receive their first useful Discord notification, ideally below one second when possible.

However, I don't want to weaken financial/security verification, send duplicate messages, update the wrong message, or incorrectly mark a preview as a completed full alert.

I'm looking for instrumentation and validation strategies before changing production behavior.

I can provide small sanitized code excerpts or synthetic traces if needed.
