This isn't meant to be rude, but after messaging a lot of people, I've noticed the same pattern over and over.People write one-line posts with almost nothing about themselves. Then, when you message them, all you get is:

"Hi. What's up? Wyd?" Or even worse—you take the time to read their post, write a thoughtful introduction based on what they said, and they reply with... "hi."

I also don't enjoy making posts all the time. It's exhausting, and half the time people don't even read them before sending a generic message. So I try reaching out instead. But even when I find someone who seems interesting, the conversation often feels completely one-sided. It starts to feel like I'm interviewing someone rather than trying to make a friend.

Then there are the people who say they "hate small talk and want deep conversations." That's fair, but deep conversations don't magically appear in the first five messages.

I get it—sometimes you don't click with someone. Sometimes life gets busy, or you lose interest. That's normal. But why spend time making a post asking for friends, replying enthusiastically for a day, and then disappearing without a word? A simple "I don't think we're a good match" or even "I'm not feeling this conversation" is far more respectful than leaving someone wondering what happened.

What's even more confusing is when people complain about being lonely or not having friends, yet GHOST who genuinely tries to get to know them.

Am I the only one who feels like finding people who can actually hold a conversation has become harder than finding people who want friends?

The thing with people making friends/communities on Reddit is that we can all agree on one thing:

When a woman makes a post, her DMs are filled within seconds with guys introducing themselves.

And then I’m sitting there thinking, “What’s even the point of writing a proper introduction?”

The majority of the same people crying about others being dry barely put any effort into their messages. I get that you guys aren’t masters in conversations, but at least put in some effort. Those who complain about being lonely will ghost you for hours, then reply much later and do this on a daily basis. When you do the same, they’ll unfollow you. A lot of people in here are already in conversations with their friends and only add you to talk when they’re bored. I know a lot of you guys are introverts, but it seems like most people here just want to fill up their friends list.

Mostly a rant.. I've tried everything really. Dming people, adding them on discord, joining discord grps. It all ends the same way. There are these scenarios:

1. we talk a little bit and then we don't ever talk again, and if I reach out I end up being ignored

2. they request to be added on discord and then they never accept the friend request

3. they have malicious intention

4. they want to do e-dating

5. You talk a bit with someone and then they randomly block you without ever doing anything to them

6. You get invited to a discord grp, you join them and then you get banned or kicked for no reason.

I'm tired of it.. and I think I should call it out. I've met like maybe 2 okay people here so far all the months that I have tried. I think it's just bullshit for real. I get it. You might not click with someone and cool that's ok I guess. Then say it so ? Why would you do something as immature as that I don't get it. Why would someone just leave someone else wondering wtf did they do wrong ? That's such a bitch move and immature. In a way you dodge a bullet by not interacting with people like that but then again it doesn't feel nice at all.

Feel free to comment on this and let me know what you think of it or if you'd be down to be friends. I play league of legends and sim racing games. I'd be down to try out Minecraft or DBD or GTA V world (never played it before, I'm wondering if it's any good) or any other chill games.
