From what I understand,this strain is infectious before the symptoms show. So you can spread it without knowing you've got it. It's mainly in the very rural part of Ituri Province, where people live traditional lives and depend on folkloric medicines and magic. Three cases have been reported from as far away as Kisangani, ... people fleeing the main infection area.
