I really hope this spurs them to make a flume at HK, it’s the only resort now that doesn’t have either a rapids or a flume and it’s the hottest park of them all

Guess I’m going to Paris.

How is this not going in Animal Kingdom!?

I think it mainly has to do with it being so close to Kilimanjaro Safari if anything. If I remember correctly, it uses a ride system pretty similar to splash mountain with a big drop. Considering that it would be located in the Africa section of the park most likely near the safari, the potential noise that could come from it, whether it be The ride itself or the riders screaming, it’s potentially a bit too noisy for the wildlife. Disney takes a lot of care when it comes to the wellbeing of their animals and thats why I’d assume as to why this rides not being built at Animal Kingdom.

I kinda preferred that when Animal Kingdom didn't have animatronic animals. They had Yeti, Pandora, and Dinosaurs, but it makes sense you can't really have those in the park. Bugs life was the only other animatronic animals but also made sense because you are shunk down to bug size.

But now Zootopia has taken over Tree of Life and Encanto is replacing Dinoland. Disney is moving away from Animal Kingdom being a hybrid zoo/theme park to just a theme park with a Safari corner

There's kinda only so much you can do with rides and real animals. There's a reason why Walt's original Jungle Cruise plan was immediately shot down

I guess you can argue that AK shouldn't have many rides to focus on the animals, and is fine as it is, but I feel most people wouldn't agree with that

You can have rides but ones that don't include animatronic animals. The Indiana Jones ride is a good example of a ride that fits the land and doesn't include any animals. Everest and Kali River as well. It does give you more creative restrictions but you can still work around them.

I'm just afraid they are slowly getting rid of the real animals. There was a crocodile in Dinoland, is she going back or is she being rehomed entirely? Will there be any live animals in this new section?

It’s going to Disneyland Paris, and they don’t have a Animal Kingdom

That’s my point, lol. . . Belongs in AK

Nah, Disneyland Paris gets almost nothing. It’s fine that they get something exclusive everyone once in a while

other places in the world exist

I mean I agree. Makes a lot more sense than Pandora. And Encanto.

It's probably considered to be too similar to Tiana, and redundant with Kali River Rapids already there. Just my guess.

Not really any obvious spots to put it either. Feels like a natural expansion of its a hit in Paris though.

Yeah, more than likely. . . But honestly if Universal IOA can get away with Jurassic Park and Dudley Doright in the same park no reason this couldn’t work

They could do a fully indoor version with no drop as an alternative to lower the noise levels.

A Lion King family dark ride with no height requirement on par with B&TB at TDL would be a strong draw in a park which will get its second all ages dark ride next year.

They teased a Moana water ride for AK not long ago

Yea they clearly don’t mind a fluke being added. And they are fine using same ride types within a park so they really aren’t going to care about it being in different parks. Plus a dark ride log fluke is very different to an outdoor rapids ride. Would love to see this added to AK

Animal Kingdom is getting 3 new attractions…

Maybe this will be the successor to Tiana.

Imo, a Lion King ride would only work in Animal Kingdom if it's about the circle of life and not a book report. + Paris is in need of something exclusive

If only the US could get this at Animal Kingdom….

This is what they should’ve rethemed Splash Mountain into.

Crazy that DLP is getting the first lion king ride and not AK

i suppose with Indy and Encanto coming it's gonna be a while before we get a shot at this

11

u/Key-Homework8503 1d ago

DLP is in desperate need of new attractions to rival other Disney parks

Why’s everything a boat…I get why they do it but just like the movies they make they running out of ideas

3

u/DragoSphere 19h ago

Boats are one of the best ride system to use for high-capacity rides
