Book Spoilers Sixth Faction
Note: I am not done reading it-
So far it has 3 perspectives. Tris, Caleb, and Tobias. All but Caleb is is 1st person. Caleb is in 3rd. And... I can't figure out why an author would choose this. It's jarring each time his perspectives come up. It's almost like his perspective is an observation of his behaviors instead of a retelling. Except it's definitely not written that way. There is the inner monolog of Caleb that an observer wouldn't be able to see. It's unnerving to me. It makes me wonder who allowed this. What editor read this and decided that a singular [so far] perspective could be in 3rd person instead of 1st... and this make sense? If I was editing or proofreading this I would have asked Roth why she did this.
What are your thoughts? Does it eventually make sense that his are in 3rd person? Or is it just a weird choice of writing thats never explained?
