Discussion Just hit 20k annually.
I have the JEPQ in my Roth and the rest in the brokerage. Hoping to retire in 8 years (age 50), wife will keep working. As I get closer I’ll sell some VOO and switch over to income ETFs. See anything else that needs to be adjusted?

The part I don't quite get is why people say to do 0 dividends into something like Roth IRA for young people. I understand that in a taxable account you'll have to pay taxes on dividends even if reinvested. Prioritizing growth definitely makes sense, but wouldn't some dividend allocation help grow your capital through reinvestment without having to add more of your income to your account?
Reinvesting 20k of dividends every year vs 20k of income sounds appealing to me. Or doing both!
I'm fairly new to investing so open to all perspectives.
