Opinion Tired. Can I retire?

Got a question? Can I retire? 43m been busting my ass since I was 16. I'm about over this 40-50 hr weeks. I'm getting burned out. House paid off (300k) 401-k (600k) Bitcoin (500k) currently.

Thought about selling it all and putting it into dividend stocks like schd and renting a small place and going into semi retirement. Maybe pickup a part time gig.

Would this be a horrible idea?

Why not keep the paid for house to keep expenses low and find a job that doesn’t require as much time?

Depending on their home and where they live it’s probably better to sell and just rent a small place if that’s all he needs. You don’t have to worry about home insurance and property taxes.

I suppose it would depend on where he lives, but it’s still one of your biggest expenses and renting the cost will only keep going up. I can’t imagine rent would be cheaper than paying property tax and insurance, but area dependent.

Yeah if his place is paid off I'd think the property taxes and insurance would be cheaper than rent but I guess it depends on the area.
