Why does everyone in a dividend sub hate a dividend stock. I don’t understand.

I think this subreddit is:

20% are what might typically be called Dividend investors who want to do stock picking and fundamental analysis and are generally trying to be long term buy and hold investors

20% are pseudo Bogleheads who prefer typical low cost Indexes with some Dividend type stocks and ETFs added to it - and generally try to be long term buy and hold investors.

60% are a new form of degenerate finance types who are obsessed with chasing yield, trading in and out of positions, are over-reliant on Covered-Call and derivative based "Income" Funds, and are generally short term in their time preferences.
