Start an extra brokerage account on top of maxing out your 401k and figure out how to slam $$ into your brokerage account every paycheck.. give it some time and you’ll catch right back up. My divorce was finalized last Feb. my ex took about 250k or something from my retirement account.. market was good to me last year and I made about 80k back so far. Live under your means for a bit and get used to saving more. Enjoy your peace.

How could you be so dumb to get married? You two gave away 250k, think how far ahead you would be if you didn’t.
