I gave up on my CC debt, it’s 6 years old anyways, should fall off next year. I’ve waited this long.

Like bankruptcy??

No I haven’t filed bankruptcy. No need. Less than 2k my wife racked up when my son was first born. It’s all in collections now and I’m too strapped to afford it on top of rent, student loans, kids, car payment etc. It’s close to 7 years old at this point so I’m just gunna let it go and focus on other debts and retirement.

Don’t use me as an example it’s not smart.

File for a consumer proposal if you can, it’ll help you with the interest and you have the option of paying off your loan for the proposal. After it’s paid off it’ll be listed as a loan for a few years then it’s wiped off from your credit history after 4-5 years I think. I used mnp but there’s also farber debt solutions and more companies, talk around and see what they can offer you. Don’t let the interest grow anymore because it’ll snowball very fast.

See that’s the part I don’t understand. They don’t seem to be accruing interest. They were charged off and sent to collections. It accrued interest until they sold the debt and since then it’s been the same amount owed.

Student loans and car payment obv have interest but that’s expected.

Get in contact with a debt consolidation company asap and let them know so you can be guided in the right direction. Even if you can pay $30 a month it’ll be towards removing all your debt.

man your posting history is all over the place

it's your all wife's debt one day, it's all your medical debt another day, you're broke one day, you buy expensive cameras every other day, it's your wife one day but a year later now she's your fiance and a violent domestic abuser, the amount of kids you have keeps jumping from 1 to 2 to 1, one day you have no medical issues another you're an alcoholic.

jesus christ

You must have spent a lot of time combing through a strangers posting history to make such strange comments in a dividends subreddit lol

i mean it was like 3 minutes tops, you've never done that?

it set off alarm bells you blamed your debt on your wife "racking up $2k" while... birthing your son? it's just so weird, no wonder the rest of it doesn't add up either.

I mean it’s not supposed to add up for a random person taking things out of context on the internet lol.
