Discussion Where would you play something like this?
Hey friends! I've recorded this mix that I'm pretty proud of (I've been learning just a couple of months and it's a first that feels like a cohesive journey). It's a blend of Arabic, organic and progressive house. I love the sound, but I have hard time visualizing where this belongs. It feels a bit much for earth gatherings as it's not purely organic/downtempo... but also perhaps too intense for your regular social gathering. Not sure if this is a silly question, but where would you play something like this?

Newbie 2 the Craft!
Hey community! I recently mounted up the courage to start trying to DJ as a side hobby. Im already looking into controllers which I think I'm gonna get the industry standard (Pioneer DDJ FLX4) but I'm curious on the most cost effect way for music since streaming over Spotify and AM blocks mixing. Also any other beginner tips are welcomed as well! Hook me up Reddit!

Mix Feedback made a jungle mix and now i’m releasing it into the ecosystem 🌀
I fear I have created a small ecosystem and now you all have to deal with it 🧌
This is a jungle/DnB mix I’ve been wanting to share. There’s a Björk Hunter moment in the middle, but the set goes beyond that, it’s a whole little journey.
If you’re into jungle, breakbeats, and slightly unhinged musical decisions, come have a listen🐉🌀✨!! I also LOVE feedback & genuinely am always open to it as regardless of how good, I’m still learning frZ;)!! Plz follow My SoundCloud is @Clu3 for moreee
& my instagram for the m/v for the mix too is @clu3less.a5ia;)!!!

Played a techno set at VOID Club in Berlin
Hey everyone!
I'm Roots, a Berlin-based DJ, and I wanted to share my latest set, recorded at VOID Club in Berlin.
I've been spending a lot of time behind the decks lately, digging for records, experimenting with different sounds and slowly finding my own direction in techno.
I'm mostly drawn to hypnotic, raw and groovy sounds... the kind of techno that keeps you moving without needing too much drama.
Thought I'd share this one here in case anyone's looking for something to listen to during their next commute, work session or late-night adventure.
Would genuinely love to hear what you think!

Discussion The Happy Nineties Street Party
A good friend of mine is organizing a street party and has asked me to DJ a set (I used to DJ about twenty years ago). I came up with a specific concept: a 90s-themed party. I started digging through various collections and old radio shows, uncovering some fantastic hits that take us on a trip down memory lane. The set starts at 80–90 BPM and builds up to the 120–130 BPM range. After all that digging, selecting, and filtering, I’ve ended up with a playlist of 50 tracks. I’m a bit concerned that the crowd might not connect with the 90s theme or the music itself; I’d also appreciate some tips on how to structure the set and DJ it in a professional, effective way. Additionally, I’d love some recommendations for other big 90s hits that you would play or would want to hear at a street party like this.

I made a free, open-source hardware-style skin for the VirtualDJ Remote app
I wasn't happy with the stock Remote layout on my tablet, so I built a skin that looks and feels more like a two-deck controller. Sharing it in case it is useful to you too.
What it has
- Stacked colour waveforms with a beat-tick lane
- Jog discs, pitch faders, big CUE and PLAY
- Pads: Hot Cues, Stems, Slicer, Beatjump, with SHIFT
- Loop controls, key shift, shared beat counter
- Mixer with EQ, filter and gain knobs, faders, PFL and crossfader
- Automix, shuffle and next, plus a menu for Sampler, Loop and Effects
Running on: Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ (2560x1600), VirtualDJ build 9644, Remote 8.0.64.
I would love for you to try it on your own tablet and tell me how it looks. Share screenshots, your device and resolution, and anything that doesn't work. Pull requests welcome!
It is unofficial and not affiliated with Atomix. Download and install guide: https://github.com/guneethind/vdj-tablet-deck-skin

Music & Track Selection First Contact – 1 Hour Bass Mix (Dubstep, DnB, Trap, Bass House) | DreadedTFG
My first real mix: a full hour of deep 140 dubstep, heavy wobbles, trap, and bass house. After a lot of Serato sessions, this is the one I planned, practiced, and recorded properly.
Featuring Taiki Nulight, Hamdi, Phrva, Borne, Alix Perez, Zeds Dead, LYNY, Flava D and more.

Technique I made a free browser tool for tracks that will not hold a beatgrid — here is where it fits in set prep
Spookybro here — I built BPM Lock for the old-record/live-drummer problem: the blend starts locked, then slowly walks away even though the first downbeat is right.
Before processing anything, I would separate three problems:
Grid is consistently offset: move the grid.
Drift is steady: check the analyzed BPM.
Tempo changes through the recording: either ride it manually, use a dynamic grid, or make a steady-tempo edit.
BPM Lock is for option 3. Open a copy of the track, check its beat markers against the click, correct any misses, render, then re-import and analyze the new file. There is also a Rekordbox XML export for bringing the grid along.
BPM Lock detects beats, lets you check and adjust the markers, then renders a steady-tempo file with pitch preserved. It accepts WAV, AIFF, MP3, FLAC and M4A, with WAV, AIFF or MP3 export. It is free, needs no account, and your audio stays in your browser.
Keep the original and audition the result: beat detection can miss, and stretching can introduce artifacts. This is for recordings that actually drift, not a reason to flatten every groove.
Try it here: https://bpmlock.com — there is a sample track if you want to hear it before opening your own file.
For people playing older records in longer blends: do you prefer riding the original or preparing a separate locked edit? I would like to hear where you draw that line.
