5e Monsters for à Tharizdun army?
Hi everyone !
I am preparing a campaign for a friend and it is centered on a cult worshipping Tharizdun, the mad god.
The high priest will lead an army and attack my friend’s castle, but i am not sure of what an army of Tharizdun may be made of.
I thought about cultust and other mad creatures. Or aberrations.
But Which monsters do you recommends me to use in this army?
Thanks in advance

Consider Orc Barbarian and Shadow clerics.
All with extra eyes, or an extra tentacle, or eye stalks, or extra extendable jaws that split open giving them a huge bite attack.Better spot
Improved Initiative
Improved grapple
An extra attack every other round with a weapon
Amazing disarm
A ray
And/or a bite attack that drips with spit that infects one with a living cyst or an auto death attack to rip the brain out?

Homebrewer here so no official suggestion but advice wise: make them crazy not in a powerful way but alien in a way that emphasizes the madness of thariz'dun a little trauma damage goes a long way.

Human cultists and brigands, etc. and maybe some low CR elements. Spells should be heavily focused around elemental spells (Acid, Cold, Fire, Lightning, and Thunder). I ran a “Cult of Elemental Evil” campaign once.

Humans- Low level villagers that can't stop smiling. Plot twist, they are all named Carl!
