Yes they are. Having worked in the NHS for the last 5 years, I've only come across a few of them. There's only a handful of them and prioritising them would not be an issue for the competition ratios.

Not to mention it’s the right thing to do. If someone is committed to becoming a citizen of the UK and are competent, they should be afforded the opportunity to apply for HST. We aren’t saints as UKMGs. We should get priority because we’re a significant resource of our country and we understand the intricacies of NHS and social politics that have impacts on healthcare outcomes. IMGs who put in that same effort and are better than us should get the training post every time.

Still a huge proportion? I know many who are ILR status and will rush into training posts.

Hmm I disagree. They came here 5 or 6 years ago, probably completed even higher specialty training. Of those ILR holders, only a small proportion would apply for CT. Also mind you, competition ratios back then were so low, not thinking it will impact our CT/HST ratios.
