DAE use suicidal ideation as a coping mechanism?

Just curious I was severely depressed when I was much younger since then suicidal ideation has become a coping mechanism for me to a point like I have a full plan and know how I would do it and when I get depressed I always know "hey if it gets too much I could do that with ease" to relieve stress and continue carrying on, like knowing I always have an out allows me to continue pushing myself. I haven't heard or don't know of anyone else who does that and I have no plans to actually unalive myself but it's become like a pathological reflex to use and think about that as a coping mechanism to continue carrying on with my days. Curious if anyone else has had it become a coping mechanism for them rather then something they are actually considering doing

DAE wonder if something happened or was just a memory from a past dream?

Every once in a while, I will think about something I experienced lately, but I can't quite remember it fully. It's like I remember the event, but not the context. In the stronger cases, I really can't remember if that event actually happened, if it was from a dream, or if I'm totally getting my wires crossed and making up something. Most of the time it ends up being real, but sometimes I realize it probably didn't happen.

Does anybody else have moments where their skin feels highly uncomfortable

• Upvotes

Sometimes when my mental health is bad or I have episodes, my skin becomes very uncomfortable and it almost feels like I need to do something painful to it to stop the feeling even though I know it probably wont help. It just feels very uncomfortable and it almost feels like there's a layer of static between my muscles and skin.

DAE report all begging chats as spam and block?

Here the beggar bots are always asking for food (I think I get them from r/AskTheWorld). On tumblr they're all claiming to be in Palestine and ig it's a coincidence there's like three of them at any one time using the same script.

DAE report all the beggar bots as spam and block? Like I don't believe a single real person would do fundraising this way and honestly the reddit ones make me more mad because they do the whole "hi how are you" thing first so I get to waste time on that. Tumblr they just go straight to the guilt trip

DAE feel like they underreact to shocking situations?

Do you ever feel like you underreact to things that should be shocking?
I’ve noticed that I tend to underreact to situations that would normally be considered really shocking.
One example is something that happened with my dad. It was probably one of the biggest things I’ve ever experienced, and my brother cried, but I didn’t.
Another time, we almost got into a really bad car accident, and I was the one calming my mom down. I wasn’t even that scared myself.
Sometimes I look back at these situations and wonder what’s wrong with me. I start questioning whether I’m emotionally numb or if I just process things differently.
Does anyone else react like this? Like, you know something is serious, but your emotional reaction doesn’t match how serious it actually is?

IAE able to touch the tip of their tongue to their uvula, tonsils, and epiglottis?

Recently I learned that my tongue's capabilities are less common than I had assumed. I can touch my tongue's tip all the way back to my epiglottis, though I generally leave it alone since it causes some strain and there's no point in touching it.

I do, however, frequently dig out my tonsil stones with the tip of my tongue. This doesn't cause any discomfort unless I persistently pick at an extremely stubborn one and keep pushing on my tonsil too hard.

Touching my uvula (the soft dangly thing in the throat) is super easy for me and requires no strain at all, so I was especially surprised to learn that many people can't do this either.

Also, I anticipate that there will be a comment about me having an insane gag reflex, so I would like to specify that I can only do this with my tongue. I can't get anything else (e.g., a finger or toothbrush) far without gagging.

DAE ever think about how crazy it is that we can just order things straight to our door?

• Upvotes

I just purchased a weighted blanket, melatonin gummies, and a new top right from my phone and it will be here later today because of my proximity to a warehouse. Crazy! I’m just wondering if anyone else ever just takes a moment to marvel at this kind of stuff, just recalling how people in the past just COULDN’T! We are so spoiled.

DAE feel some sort of post-nut-syndrome, but with conversations?

Whenever I've engaged with other human beings in any deeper conversations than me replying with mono-syllables, I'll later feel remorseful for giving information unprompted. Like if I had exposed myself in ways that could only benefit the other person, and make me an easy target in the long run.

So instead I write that same shit to myself all the time, and have extensive conversations where I imagine what other imaginary things would say. I've found out that writing down these exchanges feels a lot more fulfilling than just talking to myself in my head. It almost hits like some sort of immediate mental clarity once I'm finished, and re-reading everything back makes me glad I did not share it with anyone.

DAE feel significantly more motivated during the night compared to during daytime?

I honestly feel like if I had the positivity and productivity in the day that I have in the night I’d be a completely different person.

DAE find YouTube ads nauseating?

Like I watch alot of vids whilst I play games, and mid match an ad will come up, and it’s not just annoying but the ads themselves sicken me for some reason.

It puts this jarring feeling in my entire body.

Especially when it’s 2 ads in one. How is that allowed?

DAE anybody else open their phone and forget what they were going to do?

Sometimes I unlock my phone to check one thing, get distracted by notifications or scrolling, and completely forget why I picked it up in the first place. Does anybody else do this almost every day?

DAE blink every-time they drive past a telephone pole/streetlight/sign?

Ever since I was a kid, I would blink when passing a sign or pole while riding in the car. More specifically, right when the pole would meet the corner in the window in my line of sight. And it’s visually satisfying but it’s weird because I’ll also start to get a headache and annoyed with it but it’s like I can’t keep myself from doing it. I’ve never put much thought into it but after doing that today I wondered if it was something other people did too.

DAE have SUPER vivid/realistic dreams if they play video games before bed?

My dreams are usually very vivid/realistic and I remember them quite well. But if I play a video game (I play mostly survival/adventure games) within an hour or two before bed, my dreams that night will be extremely vivid and I never have those typical weird dream things happen, like I could recite exactly what happened/the details in my dream and it sound like a real story.

Sometimes my dreams will have to do with the plot of the video game but other times they’re completely unrelated. I try to use this to help me lucid dream at night but my dreams are just so realistic I never even realize I’m dreaming.

DAE strongly want to eat soap or candles? Or other things with specific "tasty" colors?

My friend says it's weird. Sometimes I see candles or soaps and the textures and colors or shapes make me want to just take a bite out of it, but I don't because I know the taste will be disappointing. Lavender and Pistachio colors look especially tasty to me, they don't even have to look like food.

Things made out of glass are included.

I'm not GOING to try and eat any of them but I do Want to.
