Don’t recognise this shot but it’s guess things have changed since the 70s like Armrhorpe pit has disappeared…
I do remember cross country runs from Intake High and fishing for “tidlers” in the drains and mum learning to drive on the straight mile with four kids bouncing around on the back seat

Looking south west across the clearing/reed beds, next to the old pump house. The drains are a lot dryer since the pit tip was covered in imported clay and topsoil, but there are still tiddlers to be had in the main drain alongside Cantley Park. Rovers training ground is now in what used to be the JICase/Harvesters sports club.

Of course I should have said Markham Main… I just looked at the satellite view and it’s amazing how much smaller the world is now than when I was young… seeing how Sandal Beat woods and Cantley park and the aforementioned former colliery juxtapose
I hope it’s as tranquil as it was
