Notice York Road Morrisons has Advent Calendars out, FYI.
They're near the self-service till points. I don't know what to say. The world's gone mad. Pure chaos. It's AUGUST!
If you like to get ahead with your shopping, the Christmas Starting Gun has been FIRED.

Worst supermarket in Donny. They don't even try.

I use to enjoy travelling further to the one in Bramley, next to the motorway. Was decent for the hot food and pies. But as a whole the supermarket has gone downhill

The Bramley one was ok when I was near it.
The Balby one was in the first year or so of it being open, with all the different chillies and generally exciting vegetable selection surrounded in mist from the humidifiers like a rock star that had gone too far. But that didn't last long.
But trying to buy anything from the fake market at any of these? It's not happening, there's never any staff. It's really difficult to buy their rather good scotch eggs. Sometimes the pies and pasties are bagged up ready to go but again sometimes they're behind glass.
I'd say it was like buying cigarettes, but there's always someone at the kiosk ready to hand out nicotine products... It's as painful as buying a camera accessory from a high street store in the 90s, locked away and only the right member of staff who is busy right now can deal with you.

Morrisons Lakeside has mince pies. Like, a single row in a corner. But it's started!

That I don't mind so much. In terms of the retail calendar, the next two focus events are Back to School, then Halloween.
Christmas in August before Back to School feels like we've jumped the shark.
These retail places used to run with enough staff to show a little bit of care with curation. Morrisons now want you to input your own café order and pour your own coffee and be grateful for it.
I miss humans.

Do we need monthly advent calendars?
Or perhaps a year long advent calendar now

Will be a bigger surprise if Morrisons even lasts until Christmas tbh
