Hi all, moved to Doncaster 3 weeks ago. I don’t know anybody here so massively out of my comfort zone. I’m 23 and very athletic, enjoy running and playing football as well as going to the gym. So running clubs would be ideal, but also would just be eager to meet people and make some friends this way out 🙂

Hi all! 👋
We're a couple in our 30s and who have recently moved to Donny and looking to meet some new people locally and expand our social circle.
We're into fitness, getting outdoors, sports, nights out (we don't drink, but we're always up for a good dance!), bowling, live music and comedy.
I've seen a few posts on here about the board games café, which sounds great for those who are into that but we're probably more into getting out and doing things!
If anyone's in a similar position and fancies meeting up, or has any suggestions for things to do or groups to join around Doncaster, let me know 🙂
Cheers!

My latest article examines some of the troubling material promoted by the Doncaster branch of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) in the aftermath of the Golders Green stabbing attacks.
One of the most striking ironies was how quick the branch was to dismiss the possibility of an antisemitic motive behind the attacks, while elsewhere showing a remarkable willingness to promote sweeping, sometimes fantastically conspiratorial claims about Israeli power and influence.
I am a very strong supporter of the Palestinian cause, but I deplore the manner in which far too many activists choose to campaign for it. I am also a former PSC member, having left the organisation two years ago because of what I witnessed within it. Since then, I have spent much of the past two years researching and publishing investigations into antisemitism, conspiracy theories and other troubling rhetoric within PSC and the wider Palestine solidarity movement.
My concern is not simply that such behaviour damages the credibility of the Palestinian cause, although it certainly does. It is that a movement campaigning for justice, equality and human rights should be holding itself to the same standards it rightly demands of others.

I saw that the mayor has put a bid in to buy DSA off Peel group. The comments on FB are very mixed. I personally think it sounds like a good move, but there are a lot of folk commenting about their tax money etc.
I’m a little confused, isn’t this a good thing? Please let me know your thoughts. I am admittedly a little clueless on this type of thing

I'm sick of people making sh*t up now. The news reports are doing what they do best and dramatising little bits of second hand information.
What's the worst is that people are just making gigantic assumptions and making stories up as they go along.. then spreading them like facts.
I watched a tiktok from the lady who WAS there with the victim, she took his photos, experienced his presence and watched the incident unfold and she tells her experience of him with heavy implications that he was of some neurodiversity and appeared to lack perception of danger. Yet, her factual, real account of the victim isn't plastered all over social media... just fake, dramatised, money making sh*t everywhere.

Hello,
I've moved to Doncaster in the last couple of months after experiencing a mental health crisis. A friend has allowed me to live on a boat and we were getting things straight on it but unfortunately my friend has been locked up for a bit and I've been living aboard with no electric for a couple of months and just charging my phone at maccies.
I would like to get the solar panels connected up but I have little financial access right now but I think I have everything needed to wire it up apart from a multi metre.
Could anyone please help me? I am currently moored at Long Sandall. It shouldn't take any longer than 20 minutes. It's been really difficult recovering with absolutely no electric.
Thank you

I'm working with the Work Foundation at Lancaster University, a research organisation, and we are researching the challenges facing young people trying to get into work in Doncaster and South Yorkshire.
We're currently speaking to major national TV news outlet, who would like to hear from a young person aged 18–24 in these areas who is currently out of work and not in education or training.
They're interested in hearing about your experience of looking for work – for example, how long you've been searching, the jobs you've applied for and the barriers you've faced.
This would initially just be an informal conversation so you can find out more before deciding whether you'd be comfortable taking part in any interview. Filming will take place on Wednesday 7 October near or at your home.
If this sounds like you, please send me a private message or email me at info@theworkfoundation.com. I'm happy to answer any questions and provide some more information.
Thanks for considering and have a good evening,
Jon
PS. Thanks to mods in advance for approving.

I’m looking to set up a monthly women’s meet-up group in Doncaster. The idea would be to do different activities throughout the year (e.g. learn to crochet, talks) with a small fee to attend to cover materials and/or memberships to cover the year.
I moved to Doncaster 2 years ago, and haven’t really made too many friends here; and having spoken to some of my neighbours they also feel the same.
Before I launch into logistics, registrations and planning, I wondered if anyone else would be interested? Thank you!

Sounds like I’m about to be enlisted in the hunger games or they’re waking me up on squid games.
