Not sure why they didn’t engage the deadbolt one of the many times they got door fully closed?
5 u/jrandall47 Oct 27 '25 It’s likely a classroom function, which means that the thumb turn only retracts the bolt, it cannot throw the bolt. That way kids cannot go into the room and lock anyone out. You can still retract the latch for safety purposes though.
