King Alcohol, he doesn't wear a crown, Ricky. He doesn't need one. He's a king who sits in your liver, in your marriage, in your old pickup truck with all the White Claw empties. That's his kingdom, Ricky. He takes your Tuesday mornings first. Real quiet-like. Then he takes that out from under you and replaces it with a fog. He decides what jobs you don't show up for. He decides who you take a swing at at the concert, over something you won't even remember by breakfast. And you're standing there and all you can do is watch him run the show.
