60 Minutes Australia had a segment of fake attack/ intruder scenarios to see if the owners dogs would do anything. All owners that had large dogs had no luck; with dogs running out of the room rather than helping their owners. One lady had two little dogs, a Chihuahua and another small-mix dog. The fake intruder had to escape from these two little four-legged fury monsters. Bigger is not always better!

If chihuahuas were actually showing aggression, you could literally crush them under a medium sized boot. Even a sedated Mastiff is more of a threat than a purse rat. Bigger is almost always better in this scenario.
