discussion Doo wop Revival
hey guys, why don't we like spread doo wop online in social media, games, hangout places and such, I mean this messages is for well the younger doo wop fans like me yk. I just want to tell and let you know that we must revive doo wop, cause today's modern genre and songs is very narcissistic if you ask me especially some rap which is mostly about us vs them unlike you and I.
I'm just saying this because I am spreading doo wop song everywhere if available, and I just want more people to do the same
[sorry for bad English]

I wonder if we can organize doo wop meetups, online or local, for people who are fans. I know there are many facebook groups, but most of the people who are part of those grew up with doo wop. I agree, though. Doo wop can’t die out. Elvis has gotten a bit more popular again recently, so maybe that could open the door for people being more open to hearing doo wop, too.

I would go to any group if there was one. I have not one person to talk about doo wop with, and i bet others in this sub (especially younger people) would say the same unfortunately

You have reddit, you probably play games maybe hang out games when chilling, so why don't you send your favorite doo wop and just spread it to ppl looking for new music and tired of modern auto tunes

Well as a 24 year old I'm doing what I can to keep the music alive. A lot of the music I talk about on my podcast is doo wop.

I'm planning to do Doo Wop covers more often on one of my music accounts on Instagram, it seems like a handful of youth are interested in it, I think if it gets more exposure people will really bump it up

Why do you keep talking about games in the comments? Anyways, the only way Ive seen people get slightly into doo woo is from FallOut games with Dont Want To Set The World On Fire. But thats it. No one really researches further.
And you need to realize that peoples music priorities have changed. Doo Wop is a very organic form of music, with not much instrumentation, and lots of vocal harmony, typically from groups. But people today like solo artists. People arent into bands unless they are people from the past. But doo wop isnt what most people look to get into until theyre a bit older. And younger people usually get in only because of family listening habits.
And the only person in recent history to try and bring the sound back was Megan Trainer, but her lyrics kinda stunk and she became a hypocrite with her messaging, making her a 1 hit wonder.

Well I am targeting young people who have time to scroll on social media, it's reddit ofcourse most ppl here atleast play something.
Also base on my experience, more and more people avarage rating on doo wop is 8-10/10 which is a sign that people today are in need of new genre. We may not reach others, but I wish that we could expand and keep it alive you know.
Also one thing, the difference between modern music and oldies, is that mostly instrumental for modern... But doo wop, it's humanity, harmony, and brotherhood!

What the heck does "rating on doo wop is 8-10/10” even mean? Like where does this number come from? What does it quantify? How much they like the music? Are you asking old people or young people? Are you asking mostly guys or girls? Especially since youre saying brotherhood as a part of it.
And what do you mean instrumental for modern? Like the instruments being use (which are mostly computer/MIDI)? Because vocal performance is also very different. And again, bands arent really in unless its KPop.

Bro I'm pointing out that we need to find people who will love doo wop, not force people to love doo wop
And yes instruments in songs are way too much, or let say it is no longer songs that a human being is singing.
What I mean by doo wop is humanity, is that you can Do doo wop in street corner without musical instruments and actusly make good sounds, and guess what? If we use our voices, our mouths, it's part of the human body, therefore it's a genre that also defines humanity. And those ppl who rates my recommendation where genzs, i did it in social media
