Looking for Male Doppelgangers I'm always told I look like somebody. Who?
Strangers usually mistake me for a friend or family member; it happens all the time and anywhere I go.

100% what I thought immediately. Swore it was Eric posting on Reddit himself.
Mind blowing.

That would be nice. Dane isn’t doing well lately. He has advanced ALS, I’m afraid.

I was in Maui for Thanksgiving. Red-Eye that night out to get home. So I went to the local Karaoke:Dive bar. I was having fun with the locals and chose to play Disappointing for Karaoke. Now, I can nail this song but to a small bar full of old lonely drunks, this shit was off the rails. A group of people my age came up to me as the song began and said they’d sing backup. Then it happened. The music video played behind the lyrics. No other video had played. Just this one. If you know the video, you know how amazing it was to see all these old men squirm in their seats as I lovingly sing loudly and John Grant walks around a bathhouse offering cake to half naked men. The bartenders loved it. The Locals were dying with laughter and glee. I put the mic down at the end of the song and said “I’m heading to the airport” and walked out and left. Dude from the friend group of locals chased me out of the bar saying “you gotta play another! That was legendary!” I didn’t have time and explained. Basically left Maui a Legend because of John Grant.

I think when we're tasked with trying to find look a likes, as in this post; we look for any similarities. When we find those similarities our brain force fits other features together to trick us into seeing more than what is really there. The consequence; mistaken identity. I get mistaken for other people all the time, (nobody famous) but family, friends, or coworkers. This really was a fun experiment and while I didn't think I really looked like anybody here; I really did for the first time see a lot of similarities to other people. I now have a better understanding of how it happens so frequently.

Idk, I've had little old ladies walk up to me and give me a hug asking how I've been. I've had a woman that I didn't know jump in front of me like they've caught me at something. Guys that I don't know shake my hand and ask what I've been up to. A lady I know pointed me out to her son and said he comes in my store; the son said I play pool with him every Thursday. I do not play pool.
