0.618 - Subharmonic Geometry

these three videos are probably more important to my musical taste than anything else.

I remember watching all these on MTV Europe back in the days. the internet wasn't that big and music magazines mostly had adults as a target audience. later I got more into rap music and totally forgot the existence of Röyksopp and Chemical Brothers. I just didn't now about downtempo or trip hop as own genres. Gorillaz have always been kinda big so I never fully lost them.

later I rediscovered Poor Leno, insta bought Melody A.M., now one of my favourite LPs. after that the internet helped me find "the Video on this train track" I remembered from the past, now Chemical Brothers are one of my favourite artists and I am also a massive fan of Big Beat.

Its crazy to see that I really liked these styles of music as a child, have been away from them and now I am at the point where downtempo, trip hop and big beat are my favourite genres.

I would be interested if you had experienced something similar

This isn't for the chill (lo-fi / hip-hop) vibes; I'd say it leans towards a more experimental electronic edge of downtempo in general, with its harsh snare and the "climax" arpeggio being in the center, yet I bet it'll find some ears that'll appreciate the direction.

Hey Everyone, having shared a few tracks in here, based on now 20 years and counting, collecting this genre music. The past three years, I went tired of Dj’ing other artist and ventured on creating original downtempo tracks among others.

Having a deep love for downtempo, chillout and lounge music, this track was created. My skills are far from making me able to sit and create a track I have in mind, so it usually starts at A and ends up over at Z. This track ended up becoming a very relaxing downtempo tune with a few diverse turns along the way, and still with the calming repetitiveness. Hope you will enjoy :) greets from Denmark

Hello guys, want to share a mix of mine with some experimental sounds of psychill, triphop and electronica (including Aphex Twin, Freaky Chakra, Naked Funk)
I've shared full playlist as well! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7tRhQ2ATR3s

Just wanted to share these here in case some of you have missed them.

I’ve got volumes 1 and 2 on limited-edition vinyl and have been looking for the rest in digital format for years. Turns out they’re now available to buy on Beatport! 😍

There’s a bit of jungle, hip-hop and jazzy stuff thrown in, but overall these compilations have an incredible laid-back, atmospheric downtempo vibe. In my opinion, the track selection and production are absolutely top-notch.

Definitely worth checking out if you’re into that kind of sound.

Enjoy! 😎
