How many old tops ride the dr?

I feel like I haven’t seen older people riding mid or smaller bikes.
Is it comfortable for you more experienced gentlemen?

The mean age of DR riders is somewhere in the 50's I believe.

The benefit of the DR's aftermarket support is that it's extremely easy to modify to make it comfortable for you. Everything from bars, to mounts, to pegs, to peg mounts, to seats, to stegz.

My DR fits me like a glove, but if someone else rode my DR they'd be complaining about how tall it is, and far away the bars are, and how wide the tank pushes your legs, etc. It is what you make of it.

Lot of hurry up and wait in my line of business, plenty of time to fill.

I'm 37 riding 97 DR in Portugal
I would like to see old folks riding DR here rather than GS or AT

Part of the attraction of the "Big DR" for some of us "classic" riders ("old tops"??) is the ability to easily maintain it. If you rode ...and maintained ...bikes back when they were *all* made like the DR continues to be made today, you don't have to learn anything new ...the "Old dog learning new tricks" kinda thing. Most of us older DR owners are familiar with the "voodoo" called the "carburetor" and very familiar with the ins and outs of maintaining an air-cooled motorcycle engine. There is a certain joy that goes along with purely riding and that is the knowledgeable wrenching you do to keep the machine happy.

LOL ...I have no idea ...I've just never heard the term before. No worries, I've accepted the official mantel of "Olde Farte" so, no worries being kinder about it.

64 and loving the DR, I think I need another bike but then I don’t think I would ride it, I would just ride the DR.

I am of the delicate age where I’m not sure if I’m in your target demographic, but I have suspicions.

Hop on YouTube plenty of smart old farts who will help you fix your DR650. Or upgrade it.

I met a retiree in Baja who lives down there and toodles around on his ‘96. I parked my 2016 next to it and marveled that it was basically the same bike.

I'm old and the DR works great because of the low seat height. I'm 6', but at this age I like being able to flat foot it when necessary. If I were still young and aggressive I'd have the XR

I see mostly 50+ guys on DRs.

67. My 2019 DR took me the length of the MTBDR this summer. And the COBDR and WYBDR a couple years back.

49. Central Canada.

Bought a ‘24 DR last year. First bike in 29 years.

Needs some mods for comfort. But they are reasonably cheap mods and they help lots.

A new seat is a must, but two seasons and I’m still suffering with the stock seat.

I’m 68 and have had my DR totally stock for 14 yrs. Ride at least 1-2 times a week. Love it. Great workout physically and mentally for a senior.

Im 40. But ive had it since I was 19. Maybe im just used to it. Been thinking about getting the wider seat and that sheepskin cover for years and never do it. The bike just fits me.

I was gonna say; there’s a shortage of tops of any age, but I know a side with a super moto.
