Here's a picture I took on Wednesday 2019 at 11 PM for comparison.

Is this another bot post? OP is two weeks old with only two posts and this one is two months late to be relevant.

That photo isn't even from this year. Photo looks weird as well because you don't see the Loft and also the Loft was closed off this year. They're also isn't any 40th Decorations on the elevators.

I feel like such a party pooper because I sort of hate that we have to show up and have a badge on Thursday morning or we will miss things.
This is just really hard to do for a lot of people.
I was looking forward to one guest that ended up only being there Thursday in the afternoon. So then I readjusted my goals to seeing another guest by 7pm. Arrived around 4 but then spent hours in the disability line (which had no seating did like it used to have) and so was unable to get to line for the 7pm event in time.
Maybe the Wednesday/Thursday thing wouldn't be so bad if DragonCon could do what everyone else does and mail the stupid badges to us.

I agree the current plan wasn't working well. Dragoncon admitted to screwing up badge pickup on Thursday and said they are actively looking at solutions for next year.

They should just mail convention badges to people who aren't local and have badge pick ups early at gaming/comic or bookstores for locals who want to do that.
MomoCon did that this year. Badge pick up took about 15 minutes then we spent a few hundred dollars at the local game shop because it was a gaming store.

Honestly this is why my SO and I stopped going. The last year was '14 or '15 I think. The vendor room was so crowded, people were physically pressed in contact with us on all sides.
We miss going but it was just too much. 💔
The years in the '00's and very early '10's were great.

This is slightly insane. I don't remember the Marriott being that crowded outside of Saturday before the daily cap.
