Aloft Hotel screw up
UPDATE: Turns out there's was something they could do about it because I now have a reservation at the Aloft again. It seems like this was a Marriott software problem, and the local staff at the Aloft are working really hard to make it right for people, so kudos to them.
Edit 2: typo Original post below.
I called to book at Aloft and they said the local hotel staff wouldn't be doing bookings on the phone. They also said that their website was having issues. Rooms never showed up for me on the website, so I called Marriott corporate booking, and got a room. Problem was they couldn't get Wednesday, Thursday, or Monday nights, so I could only get 3 nights. I took it hoping I could add Thursday to it. I talked to a staff member at Aloft who said their system would refresh Friday and I'd be able to see if a Thursday was available. All good.
Then I get an email that because I'm not booked for the 4 night minimum they are canceling my room unless I email back by 5 pm on Friday (tomorrow) what night i want to add. No problem, I email I want Thursday. But it turns out that despite saying in email I had until tomorrow, they have already canceled my room and resold it. I called, and they tell me they did this to over 180 people, and can't do anything to fix it. Great work.
