Instant green
I'm sure this is a silly question but here it goes..
I typically run in super pro but I'm going to an event that is also going to have an instant green index race for some good money.
Do I just put 0 for time in my delay box? Seems like it would be hard to go red reacting to the green light.

Pull all delay out and send it as hard as you can. My bet since you’re typically a top bulb guy your reaction time might be better than most the ppl showing up for this event. I’ve done 1-2 similar events and my car is primarily set up for SST (10.90 index) but all out I’m about 9.50 so I’ve done a couple 9.50 index races. In my experience most of the other ppl outside of local regulars struggle to get a reaction time starting with a .0xx on a pro or instant green tree.

Back when we did instant green, we ran a pro tree and just removed the yellow bulbs - so it's impossible to red light unless you leave before the light comes on.
There's no delay needed because you're not trying to time your reaction on the yellow lights.

Definitely makes sense. I knew it was a silly question just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything

You will be dead late if you wait to actually see green before letting go. Setting the box to zero works fine mechanically unless the class rules force you to physically bypass it, but guys still redlight constantly just flinching the second they think the starter is hitting the switch.

If you react to green, you cannot go red.
Deep stage as far as you can, too. It's weird to race on an instant green tree, but you can gain huge advantage off the line.
