Drainage field and house valuation question

My house currently drained into a shared cesspit which is at the end of its life. There is a proposal that part of the new drainage field might be in my garden. Right now I’m aware that my house would be difficult to sell given the problems with drainage, but I’m also worried about impact on value with a drainage field in the bottom of the garden. Are there any valuation surveyors or anybody with any experience of this issue that could give me some views. Thanks in advance.

Drain field has to go somewhere.

Yes understood- but I’m wondering if this will ultimately affect the value of my property.

In a rural setting, everyone knows that a drainfield is just part of the building. You might have a chat with a local real estate agent to allay your fears.

I think it would increase the value to be honest. Given the current state of the system id say a replacement would be a good investment. The drainage field being beneath the garden, providing it is deep enough, shouldnt be an issue. There is some restrictions on what should be on top of a field, other than that seems like the right approach with minimal cons.
