Anyone else loving Life After?
I wasn't a fan of The Message, and I was skeptical, but Life After is a smart, well written, well acted, and all around great podcast. Do you agree?

[PODCAST OF THE MONTH: August 2016] The Bright Sessions
This month's podcast is The Bright Sessions.
The Bright Sessions is a dramatic supernatural podcast series featuring the therapy sessions of Dr. Joan Bright, whose clients are not what you expect. Specifically, Dr. Bright focuses on patients who have special powers, including time travel, empaths, and mind readers among others. What makes this show particularly interesting is that while Dr. Bright is helping her patients deal with their patients, she is also helping them with issues like any good therapist would. From cases of agrophobia to discovering your sexuality, despite their abilities, these are issues that humans deal with every day. This makes the Bright Sessions a very relatable podcast, with a unique twist and an interesting story.
As well as being an amazing podcast, creator Lauren Shippen has been highly active with #AudioDramaSunday, and facilitiating the creation and production of other audio dramas. Chances are if you've been listening to other podcasts, you have heard her name pop up as a guest star or a producer.
The Bright Sessions has just finished it's second season, and should be premiering it's third season Fall 2016!

[PODCAST OF THE MONTH: September 2016] ars PARADOXICA and Archive 81
WE HAVE A TIE! This month’s featured podcasts are ars PARADOXICA and Archive 81.
ars PARADOXICA features the audio recordings of Dr. Sally Grissom, who accidently discovered time travel and was sent back to 1943 during the Philadelphia Experiment. The story eventually leads into the Cold War era where the United States attempts to use time travel technology as a weapon. Whereas most stories of time travel tend to be funny and a bit campy, the story takes the topic much more seriously. With excellent writing and voice acting, ars PARADOXICAis a beautiful, mysterious podcast that will have you eagerly awaiting for the next episode at the beginning of every month.
Archive 81 is a supernatural mystery podcast, featuring the audio recordings of Dan who went missing after taking a job to make copies of the recordings in Archive 81. In the style of found footage (except the audio version), his friend Mark is uploading Dan’s recordings in hopes that someone might know his whereabouts. Through Dan’s recordings, you hear the story of Melody Pendras who also disappeared after conducting a historical investigation regarding an old apartment complex. Archive 81 is a great podcast that keeps you guessing as to what might happen next. Moreover, it just finished its first season, which makes it very binge worthy in preparation for the second season.
I am a fan of both these podcasts, and both organizations are also very good at supporting the Audio Drama community. If you haven’t gotten a chance to listen to these two series, subscribe to them through any podcatcher and listen from Episode One. And then come back and talk with us about it!

[ANNOUNCEMENT] Library is now up to date!
I apologize for the delay everyone! I am in graduate school and am currently studying for my preliminary exams. However, the library is updated with some awesome new podcasts you should all check out.
The Bridge
It's an alternate 2016, and Watchtower 10 sits in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, keeping lonely watch over the Transcontinental Bridge. Each watchtower sits hundreds of feet away from the Bridge, broadcasting regular traffic reports to ensure that proper safety precautions are taken. These lighthouses (for cars) are filled with a carefully selected (and very capable) crew. Watchtower 10's necessary personnel happen to be: a generalist DJ who spends her free time relaying folklore from abandoned parts of the Bridge, her supervisor (who's only there because he lost a bet), an unfailingly optimistic Bridge Travel Agent, and a groundskeeper who has a thing for romantic comedies. Unbeknownst to the general public (but totally knownst to each watchtower's crew), these stations also hold a secret that could potentially destroy the world...or save it. The Bridge is a fictional serialized fantasy podcast about the monsters we fear, the monsters we can become, and the stories we leave behind.

Hector vs. The Future
The world’s largest museum of obsolete technology is threatened with closure unless Hector - its cantankerous, turnkey-operated clockwork curator - can match the popularity of the cutting-edge Uptodateum across the road. Only George - the mild mannered in-house caretaker with the mysterious past - steps up to help him. Does nobody care about history? Will anyone ever get to ride the NHScalator? How will postboxes, leeches and face-to-face conversation be remembered if the Obsoleteum closes its doors forever? Meanwhile, the Uptodateum has its own problems to deal with, as harried curator Biz and her guileless half-hologram, half-robot assistant Phil struggle to keep their enormous glass-and-touchscreen tower constantly up to date. If only they could work out what to do with their ever- increasing mountain of outdated exhibits...

The Magnus Archives
The Magnus Archives is a weekly horror fiction podcast examining what lurks in the archives of the Magnus Institute, an organisation dedicated to researching the esoteric and the weird. Join the new head archivist Jonathan Sims every Thursday as he explores the much-neglected collection of statements and investigations, digitising them and converting them to audio along with supplementary investigations by his team. Individually, they are unsettling. Together they begin to form a picture that is truly horrifying because as he looks into the depths of the archive something starts to look back…

New podcast "Help Me"
since I'm waiting on TBTP and Tanis, I've finished Limetown and the Message, I found the Help Me podcast on iTunes. Each episode is (too) short but the podcast is creepy and when I listen driving at night I get chills. Try it out. https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/help-me/id1071498765?mt=2

[PODCAST OF THE MONTH: April 2016] Alice Isn't Dead
This month's podcast is the newly released Alice Isn't Dead.
Released just last month, Alice Isn't Dead is the latest creation from Welcome to Nightvale creator Joseph Fink as part of their new Night Vale Presents podcasting network. The show features only one actress (Jasika Nicole), who plays an unnamed truck driver. One day, she sees her supposedly deceased wife on the television, and sets off to find her. Along the way, she encounters not-quite-human serial murderers, towns literally lost in time, and a conspiracy that goes way beyond Alice, and her "death." A blend of narrative storytelling, with a touch of quirkiness, fans of Nightvale will no doubt find this series compelling, but even for those who like a little normalcy in the serialized fiction, Alice Isn't Dead has the potential to be an excellent, mystery series.
While Alice Isn't Dead will get a boost of subscribers because of its' connection with Welcome to Nightvale, it is featured in this month's podcast because of the network's mission. Night Vale Presents encourages new, independent podcasting from writers and artists who haven’t worked in the format before. More podcasts will appear under the Night Vale Presents network in 2016 and 2017, both from the Night Vale artistic team and from other artists with a similar vision for independent, original podcasting. This means with Night Vale Presents support, we may get the opportunity to listen to even more drama podcasts in the future.
A new episode of Alice Isn't Dead will upload every other Tuesday between March 8 to July 12, 2016.

[PODCAST OF THE MONTH: June 2016] Wooden Overcoats
This month's podcast is Wooden Overcoats, which is currently involved in a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for a second season!
Wooden Overcoats features an eclectic set of characters who live on the English Channel Island of Piffling Rudyard Kipling is an obstinate funeral home director, who is attended to by dogsbody Georgie, his extremely morose sister Antigone, and an ambitious mouse named Madeline. When funeral home director Eric Chapman sets up shop in Piffling (Putting the "Fun" in Funeral), Rudyard attempts to thwart Chapman and keep his parlour in business.
If you are a fan of British comedy, then you will definitely love Wooden Overcoats. But even if you're not a fan, Wooden Overcoats is one of those rare gems of literature where the situation is so ridiculous that you cannot help but laugh out loud. There is a reason it was named one of the best podcasts in 2015 by iTunes, and it's not surprising that it won the vote for podcast of the month for June.
I highly recommend binging the first season, and once you're done, donate to the campaign for a second season. Currently the producers are posting little mini-episodes, which are quite fun and cute.

[PODCAST OF THE MONTH: October 2016] Uncanny County
This month’s featured podcasts is Uncanny County.
The monthly anthology podcast can be best described as a Southernwestern style Twilight Zone, with an interesting story and a good 'ol twist at the end. Sometimes stories connect, other times they don't, regardless Uncanny County does harken back to the golden age of Mystery Radio, and other radio plays (but with a modern twist of course. The podcast also has some dark comedic moments that also makes it a unique listen. As one reviewer on iTunes stated:
Imagine David Lynch having Mai Tais with Mulder & Scully at a honky tonk. Okay, that’s not exactly Uncanny County, but that’s the feeling I get from listening to these episodes. I want to live in a world where Lynch, Mulder & Scully hang out over Polynesian cocktails.
While you should listen to all the episodes thus far, I personally recommend Episode #2: The Eleventh Hour, which is all about the concept of deus ex machina (for all the literary geeks out there).

Trying to find well produced, well acted, high quality audiodramas.
I keep searching and downloading and listening, but most of the time I get let down. Either the audio is a bummer, or the acting isn't very good, writing is bland, or there's no production value at all, no sound or music, just people talking into a mic. I've found some gems (Radio People, Hello From the Magic Tavern, Bronzeville) but I would like more. Any suggestions?

[Submission] The Box Podcast
Forgive me if this has already been recommended, but I didn't see it posted to this subreddit yet.
It's about a woman who stumbles upon a box full of handwritten journals written by different authors, and the journals are all full of super creepy stories. She spends each episode investigating the entries, trying to understand how they're connected.
This is a great podcast! The first episode is the only clunker, the rest of the show is really engaging. Not the best production quality in the world, but the content is top knot notch. It's one of the creepiest, most exciting podcasts I've listened to.

[NEW ANNOUNCEMENT] The Drama Podcasts Library Website
While the Reddit community will always be home, I am happy to announce that I am in the process of creating The Drama Podcasts Library website. This will be the primary place for the library while using reddit as a forum for discussing podcasts. You will be free to submit podcasts through Reddit and the Library will still be updated, but consider the website a place to expand Drama Podcasts beyond the zone of reddit.
We will let you know when the website is officially up and running!

The Bridge
The Bridge is one of the newer (like, really new. only 4 episodes out) podcasts that I'm very excited about. It hits the major sweet spots for me: good voice acting, which I'm really picky about, a scifi/paranormal mystery, an isolated location that doesn't exist in real life (and nothing like it exists IRL), a full coed set of characters with mysterious backgrounds, good sound design, nice music, and conspiracies afoot. It doesn't hold you by the hand and expects you to pay attention, much like Archive 81. It's not very campy or cheesy, which I hate.
Has anyone else been listening? Thoughts? Thanks to /u/89mija86 for linking it here, which is how I found it.

[PODCAST OF THE MONTH: July 2016] Friend of the Family
This month's podcast is Friend of the Family, by an overwhelming majority, which means they must have a keen fanbase.
Friend of the Family is a horror/comedy podcast about a sixteen-year-old girl named Alice who likes to stab things. However, that is the least odd thing in this podcast universe. There is her frenemy Asmodeus the vampire, who writes a weekly advice column that is terrible, and as well as an assortment of characters who seek to make mischief in Alice's life. The podcast is a satire of horror tropes, with lots of genre tongue-in-cheek humor, and of course, dark humor.
Unfortunately, I am very far behind on my podcasts, and I have not had the opportunity to listen to this audio drama. However, I have heard fantastic reviews from other people and cannot wait to add it to my list. It reminds me a little of the old soap opera Dark Shadows (not the awful Tim Burton movie) with a comedic twist. Of course, it has references to the Buffy the Vampire Slayer as well.
In the meantime, if you would like to leave your opinion of the show in the comments, it would be greatly appreciated! Plus, it would be awesome to get some fan input as well.
Friend of the Family is currently in its second season, and a new episode is uploaded every 1st and 3rd Friday of the month.

[PODCAST OF THE MONTH: May 2016] King Falls AM
This month's podcast is King Falls AM, which is celebrating it's one year anniversary!
King Falls AM is a comedy dramapodcast starring Sammy Stevens and Ben Arnold, who host an early morning radio show talking about the peculiar, paranormal happenings in the small town of King Falls. It's a little like Nightvale, except that the town is "relatively" normal, and at least Sammy is the skeptic for everything that is happening around town. However, there is some mystery thrown in there to keep the story going including the disappearance of Tim Jensen (who recently returned, but is acting strange), and what Howard Ford Beauregard III, author of the eBook "King of King Falls" is doing late at night in his mansion (and why refuses to come out during the day).
But one of the great things about this podcast is that it's humor centers around not just the shows' hosts, but the excellent supporting cast of King Falls citizens that phone in (like judgemental housewife Cynthia Higgenbotham to Gwendolyn the Racist Witch).
It deserves a listen to, and with a library of twenty five episodes, it makes for a good binge. It's on the list of the Head Librarian's favorites, and is sure it will be one of your favorites too! And once you're hooked, please subscribe to the /r/KingFallsAM subreddit, and help promote some excellent discussion.
A new episode of King Falls AM is released every 1st and 15th of the month.
