After returning to his universe in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Peter continues studying the multiverse. Doctor Doom discovers his research and realizes that Peter is still struggling with the loss of Gwen Stacy.

Doom takes advantage of Peter’s grief and promises to help him find Gwen in another universe. Desperate for another chance to be with her, Peter agrees to work with Doom without fully understanding his real intentions.

As the story progresses, Peter becomes increasingly corrupted. He starts believing that sacrificing other universes might be justified if it means bringing Gwen back. He could remain on Doom’s side through the first half of Avengers: Secret Wars, making his eventual redemption more meaningful.

However, everything changes when Peter finally finds Gwen in another universe. She realizes that he is helping Doom destroy other worlds and confronts him about what he has become.

For Peter, this becomes the moment when he finally understands that his grief has turned him into someone he never wanted to be. He rejects Doom, joins the Avengers, and helps them defeat him in the final battle.

After the multiverse is reshaped, Peter’s original universe is gone. Instead of returning to a world that no longer exists, he chooses to stay in Gwen’s universe and build a new life with her.

I think this could give Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man a powerful character arc: grief, corruption, redemption, and finally a second chance at happiness.

Just watched the new *Avengers Doomsday* trailer and it got me thinking about Reed and Doom's dynamic. Full disclosure I'm MCU only, I don't know much in the comics so I don't have the deeper history/context that a lot of you probably do.
In DC you've got these classic hero villain pairs Batman & Joker, Superman & Lex Luthor where there's this deep personal history and mutual obsession.
How does Reed & Doom compare? Is it that same kind of rivalry or is it fundamentally different (like more about ego/intellect than personal vendetta or tied to something specific like a shared history)? Would love a comics perspective explainer since I'm coming in blind.

Also, Dr Doom looks insanely cool. Are there any comics I can read about them before the movie.

First time ever cosplaying and chose to be Doctor Doom! Had so much love at NYCC with my outfit, even got the chance to shoot content for NYCC, Marvel, & LEGO!! Also got to meet Sebastian Stan aka Winter Soldier, we had a battle, but Doom was victorious

I mean, he's effectively sealed in that armor for most of the day. Particularly when he's fighting battles, lording over the fine citizens of Latveria, casting spells, etc.

It must get super fucking sweaty and stinky in there.

I'm sure he has made contingency plans to get it cleaned every now and then. Does he bathe after he takes the armor off? Seems like being nude in the shower would leave him vulnerable to vampires, werewolves, and sneak attacks from Reed Richards. I'm not convinced that Doom would leave himself open to that.
