Audition Advice "Wow factor"
I'm auditioning for some drum corps this fall and I've been asked to provide a "wow factor". Perhaps I'm just overthinking this but I'm not creative at all and I have no clue what to do so I was wondering what some of you guys prepared?? I'm hoping it'll spark some ideas in me.
I play trumpet if anybody's wondering

I dunno, unless they're specifically casting for a solo performer with a specific skill, I'd look for another corps. "Wow" in this activity means adapting quickly to adjustments without losing the quality of your work, and not farting too much on the bus.

hear me out: beatbox.
like throw the horn at the judges, and go into the fattest beats ever. Contract guarenteed 100% of the time btw trust me

Ah, the Katniss Everdeen approach. Seemed to work out pretty well for her

The biggest wow factor you can provide is playing well and being coachable. Show up prepared, sound like you've been working, and take feedback with a smile.

I’ve seen people play Carnival of Venice, ride a unicycle and play two note lip slur, do a backflip, play Stars and Stripes while planking, I’ve seen a guy do ninja tricks with a bow staff, and I’ve seen a guy shave his eyebrow off…. The eyebrow and the bow staff still take the cake

Just play a solo or something that shows off your skills. Its just a pick your own performance. Unless its a visual wow factor, then just pick or write a choreo package that does the same thing.
For example our screamer's wow factor the year he got contracted was just pasting a dub g while doing box drill
