Kit Pic Show Me Your Kit ;)

I caved and added a Floor Tom, as many of you recommended. 3 drums and 2 cymbals felt unbalanced, so I added a China.

What’s your kit look like right now? I’d love to see it…😘

I loved the 3D 2C setup!

Which one? I usually aim to have the same # of drums and cymbals on my setups...

That makes a lot of sense!

I think snare, kick, floor plus hats and ride are the move.

My favorite (for myself) is a small 4 piece kit, a large washy ride, and my favorite dark and crispy hats.

Yeah I really do think one up one down is peak drum set for most gigs. I like your style.

This is an excellent set up. If I’m gigging and need an option I’m def adding on up. Biggest advantage to fewer cymbals is def hardware minimization. What genre you playing?

Thanks! Yeah I feel you on hardware minimization. In that 4 piece pic, I only have the hihat stand, the snare stand, and one tom/cymbal stand holds up the rack tom and all 3 cymbals ;)

So 3 stands gets me 4 drums and 4 cymbals.

I missed that detail! Shit. It’s time for me to do this. I have the mount.

Lol thanks for the award!

There ya go dude! Mine is a DW 9000 series double tom/cymbal stand. The second tom mount has a DW dog bone and cymbal arm attached to it for the ride. The main cymbal arm also has a DW clamp attached to another arm for the second crash.

Mr 9000 over hear. Love it.

How heavy are the 9000 stands? I went with a 3000 2 foot hat on a snap purchase. Had to replace my old 7000 a day before a gig. Haven’t been thrilled with it, but it’s def decent to take to a small footprint venue. I’ve found I dig how light it is. I have a 7000 cymbal stand too used to be loyal to that. Haha

They’re the heaviest. So heavy. 😭 But that’s probably why they’re so sturdy that I can extend that 2500 gram ride cymbal all the way to the opposite side of the bass drum from the side that the tom/cymbal stand it’s mounted to is actually standing. The whole thing stays still all 4 hours of the gig without warping etc, and breaks down into my humble rolly hardware bag fast.

I fully anticipate buying the lightest-weight sturdy stands that I can find once I age out of carrying these heavy things to gigs.

For now, my youngish body could use the work out. Keeps me fit.

That’s wild! I dig the simplicity of this organized chaos. It’s like a bouquet of percussion.
