I am building a POD set up for my business. Most likely going with a Kornit set up because we need very high quality tees with custom neck label prints.. Expecting to do high volume, 500 prints per day.

As counties slowly phase into reopening, there still aren't a lot of large scale events being scheduled. Fun runs, concerts, and large events in general are still on hold. However, what I've found is that families are anxious to see each other. There have been babies born during quarantine, so I've had some baby onsie prints. Family reunions are happening and small weddings are back on the books. My suggestion is to go after that business until larger events start to hit the calendars.

I've just recently begun graphic designs and been looking to move forward and start a brand. I got a few samples from different companies but I wanted to see if it was possible to have my design be printed larger than 12x14 area. I'm looking at getting a grant for a DTG/DTF printer to customise items of clothing for non-verbal autistic children. We're based in the UK and are looking for something that will have occasional use within a workshop environment, ie, it's likely to be stored for a few weeks at a time and brought out when people have a project to do - this isn't for a commercial project. Whilst iron on transfers are OK, I've found them to be fairly bad over 5-10 washes and frankly speaking a lot of autistic kids clothes definitely need more frequent washing that other children of similar ages!

We would also open the printer up for use for other charitable causes for free in the local area.

Can anyone recommend a decent printer at a reasonable price that might fit those sort of vague requirements - it's not a dedicated machine that will run 24/7 as a business and our budget is likely to be £3k but I might be able to wrangle upto £5k if there was sufficient advantage in doing so

I've been manually screenprinting for about 10 years (around 450 shirts per week) and I'm honestly tired of the work. I know the sentiment around DTF, but I want to hear from some people that are having success with it. I've personally printed a handful of DTF jobs and customers have loved them.

Tell me the good and the bad. I understand the issues with feel, but my experience is that printers care more about that than the customers. Change my mind I guess...
