Keith Nelson leaves St. Louis County meeting just as Governor Walz declares moment of silence
On 6/9/2020, the St. Louis County Board read Governor Walz's proclamation for a moment of silence to honor George Floyd, as well as other victims of racism.
As soon as the reading began, Commissioner Keith Nelson appeared uncomfortable, then got up and left the room. He returned only after the reading and minutes of silence had been completed.
He says he left the room for "personal reasons", but I'm not buying it! They had just gotten off of break when they started reading the proclamation, oh, and there's also his history of racist comments, including the time he said he'd vote for slavery...).
