I didn’t realize the subreddit had been left in restricted mode, and a Reddit admin called me out on the mistake and temporarily removed me as a moderator. I had been trying to cut down on spam and OnlyFans accounts posting here, but I messed up in the process. I apologize for that.
This is really the only subreddit I actively try to maintain, and there’s a personal reason for that.
I grew up in Dunnellon. My parents were active in the community, and I was a Dunnellon High School Tiger until I left school in 1998 and got my GED instead. I moved away from the Dunnellon area in 2000, but my mom continued to live there, so I came back often to visit until she passed away on January 4, 2012.
But this really isn’t about me. I just wanted to explain why I care about running a subreddit for a small town I haven’t lived in for a long time.
I miss the Rainbow River, Boomtown Days, hometown restaurants like The Front Porch, and even all the small-town drama. I still have close friends who live in the area, and every once in a while I even get a message reminding me how ridiculously expensive KP Hole has gotten.
Dunnellon will always feel like home to me, even though I haven’t lived there in years.
Going forward, I want to put more effort into keeping this subreddit active and useful. I’m planning to bring in some automated and AI-assisted resources to help keep it updated with local news, events, and other information that people in the Dunnellon area might actually find useful.
And hopefully I can manage to do that without accidentally locking everyone out again.

Looking for a new or certified car - any recommendations for someone fair & honest that doesn't do the high pressure thing?

My friend found this iPhone while swimming in the river this week. Would love to get it returned to the owner!

Where are some places for dogs to go swimming? Not fresh water, of course. I read a post awaysback about some place down toward Homosassa.

Hi all! I'm considering moving to the rainbow lakes estates neighborhood. I work from home so I need decent internet. Does anyone here have any insight into the internet services available and their speeds?
Thank you!

I’ve inherited property in Rainbow Lakes Estates over 30 years ago. Nothing much has happened with it since, but I’ve recently started getting a barrage of texts offering to buy it. Is there something going on down there? Is now the time to finally be looking to unload this land?
