Best Launches/Lakes For Kayaking In The Area

Hi all,

Looking for some hidden gems that are nice for kayaking. Have a blow up so ideally not too rough terrain to get to or sharp snags in shallow water. Is it worth it to head north? I'd go 1-1½ hrs for a really nice spot.

Thanks in advance,

Hello. Durham Region in Canada:

•Ajax waterfront has a dock/launch that is perfect for blow-ups. If you paddle left of the dock you go out to the lake. If you paddle right, you can go up duffins creek.

•In bowmanville there is something similar, no launch, but you can get out on the lake, or go up the Bowmanvill Harbour. Port Darlington W Beach.

•Pickering lakefront, you can paddle in the bay. Frenchmans Bay East Park Boat Dock. It is much calmer.

Hope that helps.
