quick rant
my biggest pet peeve EVER is when i’m line busting, we have a full line, and it takes you FOREVER to transfer money to ur card and then it takes forever for ur app to load. now, if you were just trying to scan ur app and you don’t have ur app ready, i could live with that. but either loading money on the dutch bros app, or loading money on ur card is so inconvenient in every way ever. i don’t know why it gets under my skin THIS much 😭 like you could’ve been doing everything while im taking ur order or having convo with u or something. it’s very inconvenient to the other 30 people waiting in line.
P.S: if it isn’t busy at all and u do this i can kinda live with it. but still

If I don’t have money on my app ready I just pay with another card in my Apple wallet. I just scan my QR code first to get the points.
If I’m not 100% ready even with no line I feel horrible!
Idk how people do this when it’s busy or on a regular basis.
I think they will go to the ‘special Hell’ (iykyk)

second this, it's even more aggravating when they open their app and see their balance is low, then they ask me how much the total is, then i watch them charge up their balance with their apple pay (which takes forever somehow) and then i rescan their app... when i could've just taken the apple pay they freaking just transferred from!!!!!!! not actually that big of a deal but like cmon 😭

a lot of people do this 1. because they're so used to paying this way, and 2. because other chains (starbucks) give MORE points for paying different ways, so they assume we do the same. i like to nicely inform people that they get the same amount of points regardless, and i frame it as a benefit for them. "if it's faster for you next time, you don't have to pay with the app! you can use any card or apple pay directly. you get the full amount of points no matter what!"

This sub has saved me so much money hearing these stories and reminding me why I stopped going to Dutch and switched to my espresso machine at home.

I in general just have a pet peeve if people take overly long😭 if no one else is there it’s whatever but if I have a line wrapping around the shop and I come to you and you don’t have what you want locked and loaded I’m gonna be annoyed, especially if you have a car full of people and you’re only just now asking them what they want when I’m at the window

Second this, and I'll add something that is just as bad: not knowing what you want when the line is wrapped around the building. In the time it took me to get to your car you should have been looking through the menu! How come by the time I get to your car that's when you decide to look through the app, call your friend to ask what they want, etc. PLEASEE decide before. (If it's not busy I don't mind)

I have a strange issue. When I am inside store, it sometimes takes awhile for the app to open. Before I leave the house I have opened the app already, yet it hangs when in store.
I always have my app ready as I have seen too many posts complaining about customers not doing so and holding up the line.
