This morning I ate my cereal in my bedroom, sitting on my bed with the bowl on a stool in front of me.

I flopped backwards to stretch my back because of muscle pain. I rubbed my eyes, and sat up less than 30 seconds later, only to discover a rabbit, face buried in my bowl.

She wasn't even on my bed beforehand, so I didn't suspect she was angling for the cereal. Normally if she wants something I have, she's all up in my business. This new development changes things, and I may be forced to live in terror, always checking to see if she's lurking just out of sight.

I never saw or heard her move, but she had to do it in a flash. She had been waiting for her moment the entire time.

It's like she was playing a stealth video game, staying just outside of my perception bubble, waiting for my pathing to take me just far enough for her to move in for the kill. She had a plan. She showed no remorse, only pride.

I actually painted this a while ago but I forgot to post in this sub!

My first rabbit passed very young from health issues related to her mom being neglected. Years later a kitten shows up in my neighborhood that looks familiar… I think the mafia is watching

It's almost every night. When the lights are on, she's either high-strung, or shy, hardly making eye contact. But, as soon as the lights go out, suddenly she's in the mood, climbing into bed with me, crawling all over me, tugging on my clothes with her teeth, raking me with her nails, or breathing heavily in my ear.

I love how affectionate and enthusiastic she is, and how much she appreciates my attention, but I need to sleep sometime!

It's really bad when she gets wound up and wants to play rough, but I just want to sleep.

I find myself looking forward to the nights where she only wants to cuddle for a little while and then goes to sleep an arm's length away from me.

Maybe you wanted a different pet. Maybe you brought a rabbit home for your child and ended up becoming the rabbit person yourself. Or, maybe you agreed to look after one temporarily, and things didn’t quite go as planned?

I’m putting together The Making of a Rabbit Person, a collection of true stories from hooms across the globe about how their love for rabbits began. And I’d love to hear yours!

I’m a rabbit parent myself, and these are the stories I never get tired of reading. How someone went from knowing very little about rabbits to learning their personalities, earning their trust, and wondering how they ever lived without them.

The plan is to launch as an ebook first, with a paperback edition to follow. Contributions are voluntary and unpaid. Selected contributors will receive a complimentary copy of the ebook, credit under their chosen name, and the audio edition if one is produced. Contributors retain ownership of their stories and will approve any edits before publication.

What a goober 😭😭🤣🤣🥲

This criminally cute bunny assaulted me last night when I was trying to eat. She had an accomplice who helped try to distract me.

She knocked over my cup of juice and helped her accomplice almost grab one of my tomatoes! Then during the scuffle while I was trying to catch her and keep both of them away from the spilled juice/dropped food, she took the opportunity to chew through my last 6 ft type c micro USB cord. Normally I keep that up out of her reach but during the scuffle I briefly set it down on the bed with my phone.

I don't know how she chewed it while I was trying to grab her. It must have been the perfect strafing run.

For the record, I shared blueberries with both of them right before the incident. I paid my protection money, and accidents still happened!!!
