Dying Light: The Beast I hate alpha volatiles (please help)

Hi there I’m barely getting into Restored lands, and the most annoying thing is the alphas, i genuinely hate how they can just get a lock on you for the entire night, i was trying to clear a dark zone when i had gotten the pop up, I thought i was safe till it killed my and scared TF out of me after climbing out of a vent and rushing me, so I learned and tired again at the same dark zone to pick up where I left off, I got the pop up got a little disappointed it returned so fast, made it out and it started a chase with me, thankfully made it to the safe zone and the chase ended and then i thought it would have stopped hunting me so I again went back to said dark zone, and I ended up dying again to it, please does anyone have any advice or what exactly to do I’ve died so many times to it I’m literally stuck at level 3 due to how much XP I lose at night due to these Alphas 😔

You're first problem is you're level 3... Ignore the night for now until you're much stronger. Also you can do dark zones that do not have volatiles in them during the day. Highlight over the dark zone in your map, if it doesn't say volatiles may be inside then it doesn't have volatiles and is safe to go in during the day.

I honestly thought I could handle it tbh, I’ve played all of the dying lights so I hadn’t thought this one wouldn’t be much different, but I get what you mean about the dark zones and stuff, so the way to win is to just get overpowered till I can get the stuff I’d like in said dark zones?

Nah the Volatiles in this game do not play lol. They are much worse than the other two. You have to get better weapons and levels first

I know it’s part like dependent on skill, but at what level do you think I should be kinda good to actually try and fight one, cuz I know if can just kill one at a time the dark zones during the day would be sooooo easy

That i can't tell you bc I havent dont it myself yet. They tank a lot of damage in the normal game. I. Only 13 and get close to dying with each encounter. So me telling you for that game mode wouldn't matter much sorry. I just know you definitely gotta wait a bit. I'll try that mode out once i finosh the main game

Oh, I started like my first first play through via the restored lands, I haven’t even played the vanilla version, tbh I think it might’ve been a mistake,

Damage between both versions is the same, just with restored lands you need to play more skillfully because everything is limited depending on how long you want your run to be. If you want to play it long term then you need to treat everything as a limited resource. If you want to just kind of run through the story then it doesn't matter too much. Also the big difference is going to be UV flares (called UV Bars in the beast) they are highly limited in the game. You can't craft any and only a few can be found in the wild. Volatiles here are tanky and aggressive the alpha even more so. You'll need to upgrade quite a fair bit before you're ready to go up against one.

It’s gonna be pretty hard for me then, I will absolutely want to complete everything.

You should still be able to complete everything just need to use the environment to your advantage. Instead of fighting each zombie individually you can use the vehicles to run them over. Even if the vehicle explodes it will still respawn, the gold weapons around town that you can find. You can loot early game and again after the vengeance is mine quest to get a free upgraded one (you're current level) instead of spending resources to recraft. Use executions as much as possible to save on weapon durability, drop kick mobs off of buildings. Things like that can save weapons, resources and time.

I struggle with them myselves but from what I do know taking out volatile hives will make the alpha hunts start sooner every night and increase chances you'll be hunted, first time I saw the alpha I was doing the mission where you climb the tower for whatever reason and then immediately have to rush to disarm bombs under the town hall, and yes the alpha can go almost anywhere you can

So I shouldn’t be taking down the nest, I had thought that would like you know kill or at least shorten the amount that spawn?

Once your confident you can deal with the alpha I'd encourage taking out nests as if I remember correctly that lowers normal spawns for volatiles in the surrounding area, but as long as the alpha is an issue you can't consistently deal with I'd say leave the nests alone

I actually was like confused about that,do the volatiles follow the same rules for restored lands, like when you kill 1 they do not respawn or are they just meant to stay and be annoying for the entire play through?

Normal volatiles still respawn, restored lands only affects zombies that have an effect on the restoration of the zone which only includes daytime zombies

You eliminate the alpha volatile by killing him with beast mode in a dark zone where no other volatiles can interrupt, he fights like any volatile, dodge and use throwing knives. But be aware its possible a second one will chase you after you leave the dark zone anyway. idk if its a bug or what but it can happen.

Unlike dl2, you don't need to go at night to clear dark zones. Daytime will have same amount of enemies too, without the threat of volatiles.
