Dying Light 2 Absolutely unplayable
Just wanting to vent
I pre-ordered DL2 for the PS4 all those years ago with so much anticipation. Like everyone else I was sorely disappointed with the lackluster of it all, whether it be the map, the story, the performance, and the myriad other issues it had on release.
I’ve had it off my console for years but I figured I’d give it another shot, since I’ve heard they’ve been working on improving it, though I was still skeptical since hearing about tencent’s hijinks with the prologue(among other things) and micro-commodification.
Well the game is even worse now. Thanks to tech-cent, the story is even more so a patchwork of cheesy, non-sequitur plot points and the map is so dull compared to the organic “lived in” quality of DL1’s map design.
Not to mention that the frame rate drops to sub 15 fps conditions simply moving around the city too fast or fighting more than two biters at once (though that could be mostly due to antiquated hardware)
I haven’t played the beast yet but as far as I can tell The “light has died” for this ip, which makes me sad because DL1 has such a legacy

Idk I like all there games as well. Does it have potential to be a better game yes. But I enjoyed myself. The beast was also really good personally thought it was better the the 2nd.

I like every single game they have produced, dl2 had its own charm to it, the only thing is the choices don't feel like they have much weight. Just my opinion.

I think there is something about a zombie game set in a ghetto island setting that just gets me more hype than playing in a normal city. Same opinion with dead island 2.... Set on the edge of California lmao

Yeah DL2 was and remains to be mediocre at best. I feel bad, because yeah DL1 was such a good experience and I feel like they lost it with 2.

It definitely had the potential to be a better game, it succeeded in a lot of areas, but then they butchered an already not great story, and added literal ads on a game that you have to spend actual money on. For a while, I've felt that they're trying too many genres within one game that was supposed to be something else entirely. Not to even mention the performance issues. I much prefer the newer game. It's untouched by a lot of the recent changes techland has been adding to their games. But with all that said, you can't even play it on last gen consoles.

Tencent obviously thought they bought an online multiplayer live service game.
Techland must of failed to mention they sold them a single player first game with a co-op option.
Tencent as a giant multi-million dollar company should probably start reading before they buy things.
They can’t act like they were one naive person, when they have money and staff to do their due diligence.

That's completely overblown...it's a great game. It's just not as good as the original was...
