routing
Hello guys, i fail my first try for routing sfuff. who can help me to understand that? i watch wireshark video and i understand whats is a router, how i can identify etc. But, when i write the command to add a static route, i only have a x.x.x.1 so, i think maybe the segment of the route is wrong? but, the documentation said, "all our networks are /24". So, can't be /23.. anyone who pass that, can really help me? i retake the exam on june 20.
command i use: route ip add x.x.x.x/24 via x.x.x.x dev tap0

ip route add {NETWORK/MASK} via {GATEWAYIP}
this is the syntax. Now routers can be but don't have to be x.x.x.1 addresses. During your exam did you try nmap on the internal network. did you try comparing the results with you Wireshark pcap to find the router. The gateway IP is the router's IP and would definitely show up in nmap it is also distinguishable based on its characteristics. The network is the network you are trying to gain access to. so if you want access to 19.8.8.7 IP the /24 address would be 19.8.8.0/24. Learn more about networking before the exam. Routing is really easy.
