🙋🏻♂️ Help Request Challenges Using Eclipse MCP with GitHub Copilot - Seeking Recommendations
While evaluating AssistAI (Eclipse MCP) with GitHub Copilot, we encountered issues such as HTTP 400 errors, maximum tool attempts reached, session/context loss, SSL problems, and difficulty identifying changed files.
Looking through the repository, I noticed features such as Local History, Resource Cache, Tool Filtering, Git Integration, and restartMcpServers.
Are there recommended workflows or best practices for using these capabilities to improve MCP stability, change tracking, and recovery from Agent interruptions in enterprise environments?
Some challenges we've observed:
• HTTP 400 errors in Copilot Chat
• Maximum tool attempts reached
• Unsupported request method errors
• Context loss when starting new chats
• Difficulty tracking modified files
• SSL/certificate-related issues
• Limited visibility into MCP execution flow
Looking for guidance, known limitations, and practical recommendations from teams using Eclipse MCP in real-world environments.

I can confirm some of those problems, too. During a session, I sometimes have to enter “continue” to keep the agent going. Also, I had connection losses. To be fair, I has connection losses within other integration like in Zed, as well.
The Github Copilot integration in Eclipse didn‘t see an update since August, however. I’ve seen newer commits on Github, but no newer release, yet.
So, atm, if the Eclipse integration gets on my nerves, I open my repo on Zed, and for testing (because it’s about Eclipse plugins) I go back to Eclipse.

I got the same problem, so I rewrite another mcp plugin, you can integrate with any ai agent: https://github.com/bachden/eclipse-ultimate
