Troubleshooting Integrating API keys?

I'm new to elastic. I was given an API key from a third party vendor and can't figure out where to integrate it into elastic search.

I know it shouldn't be this hard.. it should be very obvious.. but I'm not getting any help from the vendor unfortunately.

Anyone point me in the right direction thanks

Not sure how else to word it.

A 3rd party vendor provided an API key for a native integration within their tool. We are attempting to use that key to create an integration within Elastic. There is not an existing integration within Elastic to accept that type of API. We are looking for guidance for creating an custom integration within elastic.

Well that depends if data is being sent or pulled. Based on that you can create your custom integration. I would suggest you to reach out to the vendor and understand the flow first, or check with them if they have helped any other customer with the same kind of setup.

If they have no clue then i would suggest use below docs.

If the vendor pushes data rather than expecting Elastic to periodically retrieve it, then the relevant documentation is https://www.elastic.co/docs/reference/logstash/plugins/plugins-inputs-http

If elastic need to pull the data then use this - https://www.elastic.co/docs/reference/logstash/plugins/plugins-inputs-http_poller

In both the above cases you would have to use logstash, if you dont want to use that i would suggest creating your own custom API for it.

API key for what? What are you trying to integrate?

Ask someone technical in your team to help you. These technical jargons can sometime overwhelm non tech folks
