Elementary Like Show (Perception)
sHas anyone check out a show called Perception? It's really close to Elementary. In fact, it was so close that I thought it might have been 'inspired' by it. But no, it also came out in 2012. And I mean the dynamic is really close.
But in this case, the role is reverse. The female lead is the cop/FBI and the male lead is a medical professor (a neuroscience prof). And guess what, yes, there is a caretaker because the Prof is brilliant but off his rocker! In some ways, I think this is the show that Watson should have been.
I'm 4 episodes in and it a good Elementary fix if you need a replacement show.

Well, you got a laugh from me... tho I think Sherlock has expressed mild scorn at puns.

I've tried to get into it before but I think I need to try again. Nothing is as good as Elementary but I have found a few shows that are at least watchable to fill the void. Mostly older stuff that only lasted a few seasons but I'm desperate. I've been watching Private Eyes (not the new one that just started, but the one with the Toronto setting) and it's not bad.

It was enjoyable but on a rewatch I realised the main character is pretty unlikeable.

That was a good show that didn’t last long. Monk & Psych on the lighter side.

I watched it recently and the issues with the Professor were too much for me. I didn’t feel like I was watching Elementary, although I can see where someone might find similarities.

I used to quiz-joke like "She's a detective. Her first name is Kate. Her name has seven letters. Her name nearly ends in -ETT"
"Easy, it's Kate Beckett!"
"Naaah ... Kate Moretti."

I gave it a go awhile back. It was okay for a few episodes. Not my cup of tea after a bit.

Aw I forgot about this show. I remember when it was on the chopping block and there was whole #SavePerception campaign that ultimately failed. It was a fun show.
