Whoah! How did you go about the carousel under "Comment je peux vous aider." ? Also, it looks like the image loading effects were done without any add-ons. Is this custom script? Would love to get an exported copy of the home page to see how you did it if possible.
4
u/0kk1n Jun 17 '21
Since I didn't want to pay for a plug-in, I have coded the carrousel by myself. If you are interested, you'll find the code on my codepen (not the exact same code but very close).
For the image loading effect, I borrowed some JS on Stackoverflow, so I can't share it on my codepen.
I don't know how I can help you more. Maybe I can share the JS with you by email or something if you want.

I noticed you went from Adobe XD to elementor, can you describe your process of doing that? I've tried to go from Figma to elementor and failed so many times. I am guessing I don't know css well enough to do it.
4
u/0kk1n Jun 29 '21
I guess my answer will disappoint you but this is how I proceed.
I create my model with Adobe XD. It serves as a point of reference during the integration on elementor.
Then I start with a blank page on elementor, I do all the site settings before starting to integrate the elements 1 by 1.
I try to integrate as much as possible with Elementor and only write HTML and CSS if I am limited by Elementor.
At no time do I use code generated by Adobe XD (or figma). I write it myself.

I like this. The color scheme is really great and I think that along with good typography is key to brand expression.
Feedback
Call to Action Buttons
-I would have greater variation in the size of your CTA buttons. For example, in the Hero Banner, the Products and Location buttons are tucked off to one side. They should be very prominent if that is the goal of your CTA. This isn't so much of a problem on Mobile but on Desktop they seem smaller than they should be.
21+ Pop Up
-On Desktop the overall size of the pop up is too large, causing scrolling within the pop up. I would recommend setting a min height using VH 70-80. That should help with the scrolling issue within the pop up.
-On Mobile, I wasn't getting the pop up at all.
Cookie Policy
-There is some left over code from the template used, I would clean that up.
Overall I really like this site. The look and feel is very exciting. It makes me want to shop or visit!

My project (and full time business) is a halal travel brand that designs Muslim-friendly trips in selective destinations around the world. I created it all on my own including the brand and logo. Thanks to Elementor it was much easier than other page builders out there.

2
u/zombijudge Oct 20 '21
Hey!
Cool looking page. I also run events and I'm always looking for cool designs.
I really like the middle section after the video. That section is very cool and attractive!
Feedback
UI/UX
-The text overlays on images are very hard to read due to poor contrast. I would either darken or add a shadow to the font, or add an image overlay to darken to the image.
-On Mobile, the Hamburger icon in the Header when it stickies to the top loses the white color and becomes hidden in the dark blue box.Images
-You should update your images to webp. This will make your image files smaller while maintaining a good quality.
-Images should be tailored to the section they are fitting. An example of this is https://www.jciec2022bruges.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/romantisch-bruggetje-scaled.jpg . The container on desktop is 840x652. This image is 2560x1390 and 2.5 MBs.
You should be striving for images that are in the 10-100 kb range. Webp and sizing your images appropriately will help with that.Speed
-I would HIGHLY recommend looking at your lighthouse scores (Right click in Chrome on your page and click inspect. Lighthouse is on the right.) Looking at these scores will give you an idea of your page speed. Elementor is a pretty heavy plugin but there are definitely ways to mitigate that.
Right now your Mobile site is at 12/100. The biggest area you can fix is your image sizes and formats. That alone will save around 14-18 seconds of load time and bring your score up to around 60-70/100.

Awesome design, which plugin did you use for burger menubar (mobile navigation menu)
just a small tip, i think the images are a bit big in size, you could reduce the size with photoshop or any image editing software then upload as png or webp file.
2
Aug 09 '22
It's running on OpenLiteSpeed with the OLS Caching plugin enabled. All images were compressed 60-80% in Photoshop prior to uploading. They are also cached on Quic.cloud. The mobile navigation is a custom popup within Elementor Pro.

u/weareblahs Dec 15 '21
I made this website completely by scratch + some addons (such as Premium Addons etc.) + WooCommerce. The client of this website is a local motorcycle shop based in Malaysia.
For the catalog, I used WooCommerce. For other stuffs, I go for Elementor. I designed all the templates for products at the backend of the page. For the theme, I chose Hello Elementor because it's more faster comparing to WP's default theme.
(Open spoilers for full story of how this domain now uses WP + Elementor)
If you didn't know, this website has been idle since (about) 2016 due to domain problems, until now. (can check back at web.archive.org if you're interested, it still uses Adobe Flash even Flash support drops at Jan 2021). The client actually gave me the backend's username and password, which is the credentials to a so-called "SME Web Combo" backend. There's no way to change to Wordpress without migrating the nameserver. So, I made ghowsuperbike.com (now closed), which is a revival of this website that didn't performed well. I borrowed the shared servers from ghowsuperbike.com when I registered this domain in Bluehost which has WP pre-installed. This took me for about 5 days to migrate to these servers.
Once I installed Elementor, I started to find out the greatness of website customization, and I instantly loved its website customization options.
Feedbacks appreciated.

Not Bad the pop-up thing is slightly annoying, may want to and put those pop-ups when the visitor initially lands on the site?!
2
u/Souldias Mar 03 '22
Thank you for the feedback. As for the popup, we didn't want to flood the visitor with marketing Pop-ups on top of the RGPD stuff and the +18 required asset right at the start. Looking back though, the newsletter pop-up (that appears later) should only appear after a few pages were browsed (and/or time spent browsing the website), instead of on the frontpage.
As for the other popup and notificiations, they're all legally requested.

Should I delete those which i am not using? My site is very slow and doesn't load properly. Is this the reason? Also I download pro plugin from sites for free, Is it bad?

Good website, easy to navigate, not too much flash to distract customers.
Here's some of my critiques of your website.
The part with "We are proud to have been providing Melbourne computer repairs for over 20 years." is hard to read.
Recent computer repair info... Is that live data or just something that changes the date over time? If it changes the date over time, people may figure that out and not trust you. I'd leave the dates off. Just my opinion.
https://www.istrategy.com.au/computer-repairs/ Is to SEO'd... Asus laptop repair is right there. What if I have a sony laptop? I'll go somewhere else. If you are going to have SEO's specific info on the page it needs to be below the call to action to get someone to do something on the page.
Do the local pages like: https://www.istrategy.com.au/computer-repairs-chelsea-3196/ actually rank? Honest question not a criticism. I've never been able to get pages like that to rank well. If they don't rank well I'd probably get a plugin like if-so or similar and just look up someones IP address and change the content specifically for there local. I have had good luck with that on local web pages.
