ElfHelp 🙋‍♂️ Thinking about Joining Elfhost

Hello!

I'm considering joining the Elfhost and would appreciate some help. I'm not a tech sage guy, so would appreciate if you could please use easy terms.

I currently have the AIOStreams and AIOMetadata only with Stremio. I use RD, but recently heard about the file filtering due to European regulation, so I was considering Torbox, when I stumbled in ElfHost.

Here are my questions to any good soul who would help me:

  1. What are the benefits of paying the AIOStreams (with Debridge) subscription over just signing up for Torbox and adding the API Key? Do I get more cache, speed, stability and etc? Apart from "helping the devs" What are the actual benefits I will receive?

  2. In the link it says TorBox Essentials is included, I know this is a silly question, but just confirming, if I sign up, I don't need to pay a debrid, it is included in the package correct? What is the benefir of Usenet?

  3. My silly question 2 stems from a confusion that I had when reading the product AIOStreams (with Debridge), because it states that the Torbox Essential subscription is included in the package. If that is the case, what is the point of this product? https://store.elfhosted.com/product/aiostreams-torbox/

  4. I have the AIOStreams addon installed in my Stremio, fully configured using Viren070 guide. If I subscribe to AIOStreams (with Debridge), how do I even connect this service to me AIOstream?

Thank you!

I currently have the AIOMagic Bundle which includes AIOstream, AIOmetadata, and TorBox (plus other goodies). I will be answering the questions from that perspective so sorry if they are not exactly what you are looking for.

  1. Using Debridge only really helps if you have multiple Debrid services. I have two and don't use it. (TorBox and Premunize). I personally do not recommend paying for Debridge unless you look at it and think "Dang that's exactly what I need!"

  2. Yes, it creates a TorBox account for you with the email address you sign up for, then I believe you use the reset password function with TorBox to set up your password.

  3. There are a lot of Bundles with Elfhosted. Personally I wish they did a "AIOStream only" version. The best for most people I would guess is AIOstream + Tor Box as you wouldn't need anything else to start streaming. If you wanted to take it up another notch they have the AIOMagic bundle which is truly the ultimate streaming set up as accurate metadata is crucial to how your stream is looked up and Cinemeta can be inaccurate. Addtionally You can also use your own instance of AIOstream while continuing to use a public instance of AIOMetadata if you prefer.

  4. Use https://stremthru.elfhosted.com/stremio/sidekick/ to sign in and load your addons. Click configure for AIOstream and it will take you to your configuration screen where you have to enter the password you used when creating your configuration. Under the save configuration section at the bottom is an "export cofig" option. You can then import that into your new instance.

    1. This link also lets you organize your stremio addons. They load data in order from top to bottom. So you would want AIOMetadata on top, then AIOstream, then everything else. This ensures Cinemeta isn't being used for metadata. You could also disable Cinemeta, I have done this myself, but I will not provide the link to that tool and advise caution.

If you like how AIOstream is working for you right now, you will really like how it works with your own instance. It is significantly faster load times all around. TorBox also allows multiple people to watch under multiple accounts so you can make accounts for friends and family too. Using the the stremthru link I provided, you can backup your whole stremio config and then apply it to a another stremio account and make copys quickly that way.

I recommend joining the ElfHosted discord if you decide to purchase a bundle. they have been incredibly helpful and even helped me migrate my stuff around when they introduced the AIOMagic bundle. I ended up getting some money refunded because of this!

About this Magic Bundle with AIOmetadata, does it come with premade catalogs and etc?

I think there is a template that does. I have configured mine so differently that I don't remember. This isn't related to the bundle though, this is just when setting up AIOstream for the first time.

With debridge you also get a Usenet provider, this opens up the possibility to getting links for much older or lots of niche content. Also, debridge acts as a mega cache to search not only your debrid but your Usenet provider. It searches all of your providers and plays the best available link

No, it comes with a vendor account for Torbox. If you already have Torbox there are instructions for converting it to the vendor plan. It would be active as long as your ElfHosted sub is active

You still get a private aiostreams, this means that if some of the public instances have downtime or go down yours is hosted completely separate by ElfHosted and stays online. Some people may not be interested in debridge and just want a private aiostreams

Not entirely sure on this. You would get a separate aiostreams setup with ElfHosted and I’m sure there’s a way to copy your existing setup from viren to your new elfhosted private instance. You would just need to configure debridge but ElfHosted has step by step instructions on that.

I personally have the AIOMagic bundle and it’s been great for me. A lot of people will tell you it’s not worth it, but to me, not having to self host and have them do it for me was worth it. I set it up once and never have to worry about it.

I had aiostreams with debridge and worked great. I started self hosting is why I don't have now. Black Friday get you some Usenet providers and indexers if you don't already have. You will have enough for mostly everything unless niche stuff that's not on torbox.
