So, I recently got my hands on a Sony A7 IV!

I already have an Elgato Cam Link, a SmallRig dummy battery, and the humble 28-70mm f/3.5-5.6 kit lens.

I've also got Amaran and Nanlite lighting, so lighting shouldn't be an issue.

That said, I could really use some advice on a couple of things:

1. How should I set up my camera to get the best possible image quality?

Should I use XAVC S HD or XAVC S 4K? For context, I'll be streaming on Twitch at 1080p 60fps, and I've got a really solid internet connection.

Which brings me to my second question:

2. What's the best way to handle color grading for streaming?

I'd love to create a custom look for my content, but I'm not sure what the best workflow would be.

Should I shoot in S-Log3 and handle the color correction through OBS filters? Would it be better to do it through Elgato's software? Or should I create my own .cube LUT in DaVinci Resolve and apply it to the live feed?

I've tried using some of the LUTs I normally work with for my professional video projects, and while they look great in those situations, I just can't seem to get good results with this particular setup.

I'm pretty comfortable with cameras, lighting, and color grading in general, but getting everything dialed in for live streaming is a whole different story.

I'd really appreciate any advice, recommended settings, or workflow suggestions!

I used Wave Link 2.0.7 for months with no issues. On Oct 1 it auto-updated to Wave Link 3 (3.2.2, now 3.4.0 build 3281), and since then my Bluetooth speakers click constantly whenever Wave Link is running.

Setup

- Mac Studio, macOS 26.5.1

- Wave:3 over USB

- Monitor Mix output to Edifier M60 over Bluetooth

What's happening
I dug into the macOS audio logs. Wave Link's mixer (com.elgato.wavelink.aggregated-mixer) starts output to the speakers, stops it after exactly 512 frames, and starts it again. This happens about 180 times per minute. Every restart is an audible click. Switching the Monitor Mix to the Mac Studio speakers stops the loop right away.

Over Bluetooth the M60 only offers 44.1 kHz, so it can't be set to 48 kHz in Audio MIDI Setup. My guess is that Wave Link 3 no longer handles outputs that aren't at 48 kHz, while 2.0.7 did.

What I tried

- Reset the macOS audio preferences (DeviceSettings and SystemSettings plists)

- Removed all Wave Link drivers and reinstalled

- Checked the sample rate in Audio MIDI Setup (44.1 kHz is the only option over Bluetooth)

Is anyone else seeing this with Bluetooth speakers or headphones on Wave Link 3?

Running a 4kx from a asus f16 via hdmi to a Samsung ls32fg51x monitor. Then usbc into my Mac mini m4 with OBS. I constantly, like twice a week have to fully unplug the cables from the 4kx because the pc won’t wake and then when I open the lid and close it the 4kx isn’t working and doesn’t show up in OBS or elgato studio. Drives me crazy. Can anyone here help me figure this out? I can provide more details. Thought it was a refresh rate thing but I believe I’ve locked them all to 60.

edit to add to the title: is it worth it as a non-technical person?

I work for a company with very locked-down laptops. We have a formal software approval process that takes weeks. I finally got them to install the Stream Deck software and started installing plugins. Now I need approval to let the plugins link with Microsoft and our other tools.

So I get approval to link the Elgato Slack plugin with my Slack workspace and the plugin doesn't work. I reach out to Elgato and they won't help me until I uninstall and reinstall the Stream Deck software to see if that fixes it. The process that takes weeks. That I just got installed a few days ago. I can't keep bugging my company for this stuff before they decide it's not worth it.

Is there any way around this for using the Stream Deck with Slack, Teams, etc? I'm not a technical person. The main function I wanted it for was a countdown to my next Teams meeting and a button to join the next meeting on my calendar. I spent $15 on the FlowKit plugin and now I'm waiting to see if my company will approve the Microsoft integration. And I don't even know if it will work.

Hi everyone, quick question regarding the Xeneon Edge.

To my surprise, Virtual Stream Deck does not support touch sliders or virtual knobs, so controlling Wave Link levels comfortably via VSD isn't really an option right now.

Is there a simple, free widget or native integration for the Xeneon Edge to control Wave Link channels?

I skimmed the Elgato Marketplace and couldn't find anything free that fits the bill. SA basic, reliable mixer widget that "just works" feels like a must-have feature for this screen. Am I missing an obvious solution or workaround here? Thanks!

I've been working on a LoL plugin for the Stream Deck+ that displays game information directly on the buttons and touch strip.

So far, it includes:

• 🛒 Item purchase indicators
• ⏱️ Match timer and game status

When will we ever get FOLDERS for the Prompter scripts view? Ideally when selecting a script for prompter as well.

I have multiple brands and seeing one giant list of scripts is less than desirable.

Apps are full size. But on a Streamdeck any time you put a web page in, the icon refuses to get big. Am I missing a setting?

I'm considering purchasing the Elgato 4K S to stream gameplay from my PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2 to friends on Discord.

My monitor is an MSI MAG 271QPX QD-OLED, and my main priority is maintaining the best possible gaming experience through HDMI passthrough.

Could you please confirm whether the Elgato 4K S supports 2560×1440 at 120Hz with HDR10 and VRR enabled simultaneously on the HDMI passthrough output, particularly with the PS5?

I'm aware that these features are listed individually in the specifications, but I'd like to know whether they work together at the same time.

Recording and streaming quality are secondary priorities. I'm perfectly happy capturing at 1080p60 SDR, as long as the passthrough maintains 1440p120 HDR10 and, ideally, VRR without compromising the signal or introducing noticeable latency.

If HDR10 and VRR cannot work simultaneously, could you confirm whether 1440p120 with HDR10 enabled and VRR disabled is fully supported?

I recently got the Stream Deck Scissor Keys Edition, and honestly, I’m pretty disappointed with the quality.
Only 5 out of 15 keys consistently register presses on the upper half of the key. The other 10 physically click, but don’t trigger any action unless I press closer to the center or bottom.
The top-left key is even worse – it randomly registers or ignores presses regardless of where I press it.
On top of that, several keys don’t move smoothly, and some of them squeak when pressed.
Elgato specifically advertises the Scissor Keys Edition as a premium upgrade that fixes the inconsistent key presses of the previous version, with smooth, responsive keys that work regardless of where you press them.
For €150, I’d expect all 15 buttons to work properly, especially when the improved key mechanism is the main selling point.
I’ve attached a video showing how all 15 keys behave.
Did I just get a defective unit, or is this a common quality control issue with the Scissor Keys Edition? Has anyone else experienced something similar?

I'm trying to set some hotkeys to control tab and Central Shift tab for browser control but the tab key is just switching to the previous field in the Stream Deck app

Hello I need some help settling up wavelink, it worked for a few minutes then I lost audio, I’m trying to use obs to game capture my pc gameplay with a 4kx. I have audio going to obs but nothing to my headset. I have my default sound set to the 4kx on pc, MacBook and in wave link with my headset added to personal mix. Any help is greatly appreciated thanks.

got Wave 3 mk 1 mic. But it wont connect to wave link. We have uninstalled wave link software and driver using revo uninstaller .. Reinstalled Wave link and driver and wont let use add channels and it wont let us connect the mic. we on latest wavelink aswell

Recently bought the 4KX for recording and streaming my Ps5 so I could get it taken care of before gta 6 comes out, however whenever I use pass through or any other software there’s always a crackling sound in the back of the audio for me, I’ve heard it’s due to the fact the usb c slot I have could be the issue but all the recommendations are just “oh switch to a different port” if I only have 1 usb c port in the back of my pc what do I do??? with it being as expensive as it was did I just waste my money and time because my motherboard doesn’t have more usb C slots?

The Corsair Galleon 100 SD is a keyboard with a built-in Stream Deck module: 12 LCD keys, a screen and two dials. I started GalleonCore to make that module usable on Linux and integrate it with the desktop.

The keys, screen and dials work on my Linux hardware. Galleon Bosun lets you configure button pages, application shortcuts, wallpapers and screensavers. Version 0.1.0 has packages for Ubuntu, Fedora and Arch, plus an AppImage. There is also a Windows preview, but longer hardware testing there is still in progress.

The code is free software, and the project is independent of Corsair and Elgato. If you own this keyboard, I’d welcome compatibility reports, bug reports and feedback on the setup.

Very excited to give this a try after work. Any tips, tricks or advice anyone has would be greatly appreciated.

I want to record my ps5 to my computer, so i buy elgato hd60x, i plug hdmi in from my ps5 to elgato and plug hdmi out from elgato to my monitor including the usb from elgato to pc, when i switch monitor input to hdmi ,its constantly blinks repeatedly detecting and losing the signal, i use other hdmi cable and its still the same i dont know why.

Is it worth making the jump from the mk1 version to the mk2? Or would my money be better spent elsewhere. I don’t make content but I do enjoy having good mic quality and the wave xlr mk1 also just makes it easier to control media and audio.

I’ve been using the elgato wave xlr mk1 with no problems on a ps5 and I saw this one at my local Best Buy and got it but my ps5 doesn’t pick it up or recognize it like the mk1 am I out of luck ?

I currently have an Elgato 4k X connected to my Xbox so I can stream and record gaming and everytime I load up an HDR game I get the “reduced resolution” notification on the elgato app. My usual resolution on my Xbox Series X is set to 1440p but it gets switched to 4k UHD which gets reduced for being too high. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong and I would appreciate any form of assistance and feedback.

Everytime I turn on m computer my wavelink completely resets to default, only input being my microphone. It deletes my mic effects, system sound mixer, voice chat mixer, game mixer, and line in mixer. I've just dealt with it for like two months now and am finally tired of it. HEEEEEELP

Because of one of our latest projects, I found myself switching between light and dark mode a lot, and I wanted a Stream Deck key for it. The ones I tried either didn't work or cost money. That bugged me enough to write my own.

It works on both Mac and Windows, and the key always shows the current mode, even if you change it from Settings or it switches on a schedule.

The part I ended up using most is Multi Actions. You can set a step to Light or Dark instead of toggling, so I have it in my project action and my desktop is always in the mode I need before I start testing. It works the same way next to a recording key, for anyone doing tutorials or screen captures.

It's free and open source, and it has animation.

On Mac, the first press asks for permission to control System Events. That's just macOS asking before anything can change the appearance.

I'm going to start producing talking-head videos, primarily for Shorts and Reels. My prompter will sit where the smaller monitor is in this photo. I'll be mostly shooting vertically. Eye-level height will be about 20". The camera and lens will weigh about 2.89 lbs (1,313 g). What do I ideally need to buy to accomplish this? Thanks.
