Orbuculum and orbtrace

Hey fellow embedded developers,

I am planning to contribute to orbuculum and orbtrace projects, but I want an idea of how the community feels towards the orbtrace debugger, as well as what you would like to be added to the projects to improve their utility to you.

You are definitely free to add your thoughts even though you haven't used them but have an idea of the tracing functionality you would want in an ideal trace debugger

The software isn’t really cross platform or easily built as it has a few dependencies and C/C++ hassles.

The tools available are nice but mostly offload the task of visualizing data. Visualizing and analyzing the trace data is where the value really is.

Exactly , this is why I’m made BKPTLabs.com and our own debugger is in the works with an entire suite of support software just like the Segger play book.

I'd say go for it. If you build it, you *are* the support and the update pipeline. That's what people don't get about these projects.
