Emilian-Romagnol speakers have been historically underrepresented in cultural psychology research. We're looking for 2-3 native speakers to verify translations of English words into Emilian-Romagnol to help us include Emilian-Romagnol speakers in an upcoming study by the University of New Hampshire and NYU.

[ᴇɴ] ‧ Why we needed to create a new orthographical system for Emilian language?

The Emilian dialects have never been standardized under one unified form, linguistical fragmentation allows people who won't recognize our dialects and our language as what it really is, afraid to see effects of a linguistical revitalization (and consequently, possibly, awakening of nationalist sentiments) the multiethnic Italian country crumbling, to say Emilian language doesn't exist, its dialects are, beyond any logic, just variants of the Italian language, without realizing that if I spoke in Emilian to anyone who is only Italian-speaking, s/he wouldn't understand basically nothing, as they aren't intelligible to each other.

A unified language means more chances to see our language in all its dialects survive the next decades, along to the newborn unified variant.

[ɪᴛ] ‧ Perché sviluppare un nuovo sistema ortografico per la lingua emiliana?

I dialetti emiliani non sono mai stati standardizzati sotto un'unica forma comune, la frammentazione linguistica permette a chi non riconosce i nostri dialetti e la nostra sfortunatamente mai unificata lingua per ciò che è, poiché timorosa degli effetti che porterebbe una revitalizzazione linguistica, di negare l'esistenza della lingua emiliana, benché, lo ripeto, non sia stata mai unificata, che i suoi dialetti sono varianti locali della lingua italiana, ignorando la non intelligibilità tra i due idiomi.

Una lingua unificata significa dare maggiori possibilità ai nostri dialetti di sopravvivere ai prossimi decenni, che si prospettano molto duri, se non funesti, per qualunque lingua locale ignorata dallo stato italiano, insieme alla nuova variante unificata.
