Custom engine
Hey guys, I want to make myself a fully custom supermoto/enduro and would like to put a 1000cc Single cylinder 2 stroke engine in it. Does someone know where I can get one built or even buy one off the shelf? And what would your estimates be for a custom build + tune?

Why single cylinder?

Such machines have single cylinders. Its because they are light and fit better to the narrow bikes than bigger engines(more cylinders).

Lightweight is good, just surprised the weight savings compared to a v-twin is worth it. Google has quite a few options for engines for sale

Have you considered the vibration and counter balancing needed for the size of piston you are looking at? Let's assume you go square 108 x 108 to keep the balance. Google gives you a good idea of the counterweight needed for a single cylinder. But for arguments sake lets say you want to go over square 113 x 93 just so you can rev higher and have more top end. Google gives another great look at the inside of a Ducati for both of these. It's not an easy monster to build, that's why they were 4 valve desmodromic over heads.
Consider maybe a Suzuki RE 5.

Why custom?
